Abstract

This training aims to serve the community to provide an understanding to grocery store entrepreneurs about the importance of recording or bookkeeping of their activities and business progress, and to introduce the BukuWarung application to grocery store entrepreneurs in Marga Bakti Village. The problem found was their lack of knowledge and understanding of accounting, especially recording and bookkeeping to the preparation of financial reports. Their previous understanding that recording and bookkeeping were difficult, troublesome, and time-consuming became an obstacle to learning accounting. In the era of IT-based technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), the use of BukuWarung-based technology that can be accessed anywhere has become a basic human need. The BukuWarung-based bookkeeping application can be used as a tool for recording the flow of money in and out that can be used easily and applicatively for business actors, both small and medium.

Abstract

Public speaking training is a strategic effort to enhance students' confidence, particularly high school students in Sinar Bhakti Village, who often face challenges in effectively communicating in public. This community service activity aims to identify the impact of public speaking training on students' confidence and presentation skills. The training method used is a participatory approach, combining theoretical sessions and practical exercises. Activities include presentation simulations, performance evaluations, and interactive discussions. Additionally, the training is designed to introduce effective communication techniques, such as voice modulation, body language, and logical delivery structure. The results show a significant improvement in students' confidence, their ability to structure presentation materials, and their courage to speak in public. Most participants reported feeling more prepared to face the challenges of speaking in front of an audience after completing the training. This program has also successfully increased students' awareness of the importance of communication skills in supporting their academic and non-academic success. With these achievements, the training is expected to serve as a model for schools to sustainably develop students' communication competencies.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to explore business opportunities for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to increase household income in Tanjung Makmur Village, Sinar Peninjauan District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, through training on making snacks from spring roll wrappers. The main problems faced by the local community are the low level of household income, which relies mainly on the plantation sector, limited skills in identifying MSMEĀ  pportunities, and low knowledge of processing food products that have marketable value.The implementation methods include counseling, demonstrations of making snacks from spring roll wrappers, hands-on practice, providing skills in producing high-quality spring roll wrappers using more modern techniques that align with current snack trends popular among the public, assistance in packaging, and the introduction of simple marketing strategies. By utilizing spring roll wrappers, housewives can produce high-value products with broad market potential. This training also opens opportunities to create new home-based businesses, encourages creativity in product diversification, and strengthens the village economy sustainably through community empowerment.

Abstract

Pertanian organik berkelanjutan membutuhkan pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal yang ramah lingkungan dan mudah diperoleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses dan hasil pembuatan pupuk organik cair (POC) keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental melalui kegiatan praktikum dengan teknik fermentasi menggunakan EM4 sebagai aktivator mikroorganisme. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kompos fermentasi sekam menghasilkan kompos matang berwarna cokelat kehitaman, bertekstur remah, dan tidak berbau. Pestisida organik daun gamal menghasilkan larutan fermentasi berwarna hijau kecokelatan yang berpotensi menekan hama tanaman secara alami. POC keong mas menghasilkan cairan berwarna cokelat kekuningan yang mengandung unsur hara dan senyawa pendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Pemanfaatan bahan lokal ini berpotensi mendukung sistem pertanian berkelanjutan, mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap input kimia, serta meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan limbah pertanian.

Abstract

Peningkatan aktivitas domestik di Desa Battu Winangu Kecamatan Lubuk Raja, berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan limbah rumah tangga, khususnya minyak goreng bekas (jelantah). Penggunaan minyak jelantah secara berulang menimbulkan risiko kesehatan karena sifat karsinogenik yang terbentuk akibat pemanasan berulang. Selain itu, pembuangan limbah ini secara sembarangan ke saluran air berpotensi merusak ekosistem tanah dan perairan. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mentransfer pengetahuan dan teknologi tepat guna kepada masyarakat mengenai bahaya minyak jelantah serta metode pengolahannya menjadi sabun cuci cair. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan, demonstrasi purifikasi minyak menggunakan adsorben Bleching, dan pelatihan pembuatan sabun (saponifikas). Mitra sasaran adalah kelompok Ibu-ibu PKK Desa Battu Winangun. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta yang signifikan mengenai bahaya dan pengelolaan limbah minyak, serta keberhasilan peserta dalam mempraktikkan pembuatan sabun cuci yang memiliki nilai guna. Program ini diharapkan dapat memicu kemandirian masyarakat dalam mereduksi limbah rumah tangga sekaligus menciptakan peluang ekonomi kreatif berbasis limbah.
