Abstract

Having a child with an autistic spectrum disorder is a challenge for parents, especially mothers, which can hinder the fulfillment of optimal psychological functions so that the mother’s psychological well-being is disturbed. Internal situations such as gratitude and the presence of external support from the family can be factors that can encourage increased psychological well-being in mothers. This study observed the effects of gratitude and family support on mothers’ psychological well-being with children with an autism spectrum disorder. The instruments in this study used the gratitude scale, the family support scale and Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scales-short version distributed online. The subject in this study was 98 people, and the data collected were analyzed using the Doubled Linear Regression test using JASP software. The results showed the significance value of p<0.05; thus, gratitude and family support had a role or effect on mothers’ psychological well-being with children with an autism spectrum disorder. Meanwhile, the effective contribution for gratitude was 17.39%, and family support was 21.53%. For future research, gratitude and emotion-based therapies such as emotion regulation training can be used as an intervention in experimental research to improve psychological well-being.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance early detection skills of teachers and parents in identifying Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or GPPH in children. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which can significantly impact a child's academic, social, and emotional development. The main issue identified at SDIT An-Nur, Bandung, was the lack of awareness and knowledge among educators and parents regarding ADHD symptoms and intervention strategies. To address this, a psychoeducation program was conducted involving lectures, interactive discussions, and practical observation training. Participants completed a pre-test and post-test to measure knowledge improvement. The program also introduced a pocket guidebook as a reference for ongoing learning. Results showed a significant increase in understanding and awareness among participants, with active engagement during discussions indicating their motivation to support children with ADHD. This program highlights the importance of early detection through collaborative efforts between schools and families, contributing to inclusive mental health promotion aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

In some studies, religious coping can reduce or overcome PTSD symptoms. The Islamic approach is used because if you look at the culture of the people who really hold religious values, especially Islam because the majority is Muslim. The Islamic approach in carrying out religious coping aims to build trust in God, be more dedicated in worshiping, applying Islamic religious values in dealing with problems, and building an Islamic environment. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing social anxiety in adolescents. Social anxiety disorders often emerge during adolescence and can hinder the development of social, academic, and emotional skills. CBT, as an evidence-based approach, has been widely used to treat anxiety disorders through cognitive restructuring, relaxation, and gradual exposure techniques. The method used is a single-case experimental design with an A-B design. The research subject is a 16-year-old adolescent who scored high on the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) and met the diagnostic criteria for social anxiety disorder. The intervention was conducted over six sessions, focusing on identifying cognitive distortions, restructuring negative thoughts, relaxation exercises, and gradual exposure to social situations that trigger anxiety. The pre-test results showed a score of 85 (high category), while the post-test results showed a decrease to 61 (moderate category). The subject also demonstrated changes in the ability to think more realistically, courageously face social situations, and reduce avoidance behaviors. These findings indicate that the combination of techniques in CBT effectively helps the subject recognize cognitive distortions and develop more adaptive responses to social situations.
