Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has been happening in Indonesia for a long time, starting from March 2020 to March 2022, for approximately 2 years, we all felt together with the impact of the pandemic. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the world of education is felt by teenagers. Changes in offline learning methods to online, studying at home all day, lots of assignments, and not being able to meet friends, all of which can interfere with adolescent psychosocial development, for that we need a solution by increasing adolescent knowledge by providing health education. This community service activity aims to increase adolescent knowledge about adolescent psychosocial development, the impact of the pandemic, and solutions that adolescents must take to continue their healthy adolescent psychosocial development. This health education activity is carried out online. Participants in this activity were 24 high school students from several provinces, namely West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and South Sumatra. Evaluation of activities is carried out by conducting a post-test with the results that 70% of students can answer correctly the questions given. The enthusiasm of the youth and the involvement of the Pasar Rebo Nursing Academy students in this PKM activity made the activity run smoothly and successfully. A follow-up plan is needed to increase youth knowledge about healthy adolescent development towards a strong young generation.

Abstract

Good growth and development are described by the condition of healthy teeth and mouth and ears, for this reason, it is important to carry out an examination of the child's teeth, mouth and ears to prevent caries problems or cavities and obturous teeth. Dental caries problems until a hole occurs will interfere with the child's activities to learn, complaints of toothache will make the child absent and decrease appetite, while the accumulation of serum in the ear canal can cause hearing loss which results in reducing the child's school performance. This community service activity aims to provide health services in the form of dental and oral and ear examinations for students of SDN 01 cibubur grades 1 to 6 with a total of 763 students. This service activity is carried out for one day in the form of direct observation of the teeth and mouth and ears. The examination was divided into four groups consisting of puskesmas officers, lecturers and students. This community service activity received 247 (32.37 %) students experiencing dental caries, and a buildup of serum in both ears of 205 (26.87 %) students out of a total number of 763 students. The problem of caries and the accumulation of serumen experienced by school children requires follow-up by puskesmas and prevention for students who are still good, for this reason, further activities of community service will be planned in the form of education to the students of SDN 01 Cibubur through counseling on how to maintain healthy teeth, mouth and ears.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a disease that attacks children and adults caused by the dengue virus. The aim of implementing nursing care for dengue hemorrhagic fever patients who experience an increase in body temperature begins with a comprehensive nursing approach. This research method uses descriptive research methods with case studies and literature studies. Nursing care was provided to an 18 year old boy. The results of the assessment showed seven nursing problems, namely ineffective airway clearance, hyperthermia, risk of bleeding, risk of hypovolemia, risk of nutritional deficit, constipation and risk of infection. The implementation carried out was applying warm compresses with a duration of 10-15 minutes for 2 days during fever to reduce the patient's body temperature. The evaluation results showed that there was a continuous decrease in body temperature from 38.6oC to 36.5oC on the second day and the results accelerated the process of reducing fever in children. In conclusion, warm compresses can be applied to dengue hemorrhagic fever patients to reduce fever. The application of Evidence Based Nursing in providing nursing care is very appropriate to apply to patients to improve the quality of evidence-based nursing care. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide information for hospitals and educational institutions about nursing care.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) continue to face significant health challenges, with a growing morbidity rate that lowers their quality of life (QoL). Children with CKD experience complex problems physically, emotionally, socially and at school, requiring different problem solving for each child. At the assessment stage, assessing the quality of life is very important, the results of which determine the next steps regarding the child's care and treatment. Purpose: The aim of this research is to determine the best service delivery based on assessing the quality of life of CKD children based on research results. Methods: Systematic review study was for children determine the best service delivery based on assessing the QoL with CKD. Electronic database and reference list of relevant articles from 2016 to 2023. Guided by PRISMA guidelines, five electronic database PubMed, EBSCO, PROQUEST, Science Direct, and Google Scholar-were searched for relevant articles published in Indonesia and English. Results: From 11 studies, it was found that the majority of children with CKD had a low quality of life in terms of physical, emotional, social and academic function, even though the quality of life of children who underwent a renal transplant (RT) was better than children who underwent a RT, undergoing hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD), to improve the QoL proper care is needed, one of which is camping activities by camping, children assess their quality of life positively, with self-esteem as the most felt dimension. Short stature, low family income, use of dialysis, and depression are risk factors associated with lower overall QoL. Conclusion: Research reveals that almost all children with CKD score poorly on QoL assessments. Children with CKD experience a poor quality of life, and require team and comprehensive work to improve the child's quality of life. Quality of life assessment is a reflection of the need for appropriate care and treatment for the child and family. Keywords: Quality of life, Children, Chronic kidney disease

Abstract

Stunting occurs when a child under five years of age has a height that is shorter than expected for their age, or falls below two standard deviations from the average growth of children. This condition is closely related to nutritional status, which reflects the balance between the body’s nutrient requirements and the nutrient intake obtained from food. One highly nutritious local food source is the moringa plant, particularly its edible leaves. In 100 grams of dried moringa leaves, there are 27.1 grams of protein and 28.2 grams of iron, indicating strong potential to support nutritional improvement in children. This review aims to determine the effect of processed moringa leaves on improving the nutritional status of stunted under-five children. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar using a literature review method involving five articles. The findings show that processed moringa leaves are proven to improve the nutritional status of stunted children. Therefore, with this evidence, it is expected that practitioners can recommend complementary feeding for breastfeeding (CF) or additional foods made from moringa leaves as one strategy to address nutritional problems in stunted children.
