Abstract

The necessity of learning through engagement using digital comic in the EFL context becomes increasingly challenging for EFL pre-service teachers. This study investigates the experiences of 47 EFL pre-service teachers from an Islamic higher education institution in Kendari, Indonesia, in designing digital comics as a learning platform. Using a case study approach, data were collected through reflective journals and a focused group discussion after a 5-week design process. Findings show most participants held positive attitudes toward digital comics, gaining skills in using applications and websites for learning. However, they faced challenges related to technology, self-regulation, design, and pedagogy. The study highlights the effectiveness of consultation sessions and recommends incorporating digital comics into foreign language teaching media courses. This study suggests the integration of technology-oriented platforms like digital comics across all educational levels to enhance engagement and move beyond traditional teaching materials.

Abstract

Seiring dengan pertumbuhan kendaraan yang sedemikian pesat pada saat ini maka tempat parkir merupakan suatu kebutuhan yang sangat penting bagi pengendara kendaraan. Sistem parkir dapat membantu para pengendara untuk memarkirkan kendaraannya serta memberikan kenyamanan dalam akses keluar masuk kendaraan dan keamanan kendaraan. PT. Gree Electric Appliances Indonesia membutuhkan sistem parkir untuk menjaga keamanan kendaraan para karyawannya. Sistem yang akandibuat menggunakan penerapan teknologi machine learning dan kartu RFID dengan menggunakan metode CNN (Convolutional Neural Network). Saat kendaraan akan masuk sistem yang akan dibuat mendeteksi RFID terlebih dahulu, lalu saat RFID terdeteksi maka akan dilakukan pengambilan gambar plat kendaraan untuk proses identifikasi teks plat nomor kendaraan menggunakan machine learning dengan menggunakan metode CNN. Kemudian juka teks nomor sudah didapat, maka teks nomor plat kendaraan dan ID karyawan pada RFID disimpan ke database. Saat kendaraan keluar maka dilakukan proses sama seperti pada kendaraan masuk untuk mendapat teks plat nomor dan ID karyawan. Kemudian data tersebut akan dicocokkan dengan data kendaraan masuk yang tersimpan, jika terdapat kesamaan maka gate akan terbuka. Hasil dari sistem ini dapat digunakan untuk PT. Gree Electric Appliances Indonesia untuk menjaga keamanan keluar masuk kendaraan ke perusahaan dan juga terdapat laporan pada aplikasi yang dapat membantu petugas dalam memperoleh informasi keluar masuk kendaraan karyawan berdasarkan tanggal yang diiginkan.
