Despite the growing body of research on corrective feedback in foreign language learning, there remains a gap in understanding the specific strategies utilized by EFL teachers as observed by pre-service teachers firsthand. Based on the observed experiences of EFL pre-service teachers during their observational field teaching practice, this study aims to analyze how English teachers give their corrective feedback. This study employed a qualitative research approach with a case study design. Eleven Indonesian EFL pre-service teachers who had finished their field teaching practice were involved in the study. The qualitative data were gathered using reflective Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and semi-structured interviews. The result of qualitative data analysis revealed three emerging themes of teachers

Abstract

This study aims to explore and narrate the culture shock experienced by the first author, an Indonesian EFL exchange student, during an academic exchange program at a Midwestern university in the United States. Using an autoethnographic approach, data were collected from the author's personal reflections, journals, and social media archives, then analyzed through a narrative method to present the lived experiences in a clear, chronological structure. The findings reveal that the first author experienced a range of emotions throughout all four stages of culture shock: honeymoon, frustration, adjustment, and adaptation. Each stage had a notable impact on his academic performance, emotional well-being, and motivation to engage with the host university’s academic and social environments. The study highlights the importance of cultural readiness and emotional resilience for exchange students. It also recommends that higher education institutions strengthen orientation programs and offer more holistic, culturally responsive support systems to help students navigate cross-cultural transitions effectively.

Bibliometric studies on financial literacy have been widely conducted, yet specific attention to elementary school students remains limited. This study aims to explore and identify trends and themes in the literature on financial literacy at the elementary school level from 2010–2024. Data were collected through a search procedure for relevant articles, followed by article selection, metadata completeness checking, and analysis using VOSviewer software. The analysis results show a significant increase in publications since 2016, with the United States and Australia having the most dominant contributions. Carly Sawatzki was recorded as the most productive author, while the most cited article was written by Sherraden et al. Keyword analysis revealed new themes with potential for further research, such as game-based learning, awareness, and culturally relevant pedagogy, began to emerge. These findings provide a comprehensive overview of the development of financial literacy research in elementary schools and identify opportunities and directions for future research in this area.

Abstract

This program-based community service (PkM) aims to improve the quality of English language learning at the Junior High School (SMP) level in South Konawe Regency through training in the form of classroom instruction and communicative practice activities. The method used in this activity is Asset-Based Community Services (ABCD) which involves English teachers as research subjects and main actors in designing, implementing and evaluating learning changes and improving existing competencies. Classroom Instruction training focuses on introducing innovative language learning methods that are relevant to the needs of junior high school students. In this case, the use of English for Teaching as the teacher's language of instruction in the classroom plays a very important role. This activity involves implementing a collaborative approach between teachers and PkM implementers as well as resource persons to identify the most effective learning strategies in the specific school context. Meanwhile, Communicative Practice Activities are focused on developing learning activities that promote active verbal interaction in English and are student-centered. It is hoped that the results of this activity can provide practical and useful guidance for junior high school teachers in improving the effectiveness of English language teaching. In addition, through a participatory process, it is hoped that a sustainable collaborative culture will be created among teachers to continue to improve the quality of English learning. Continuous evaluation will be carried out to measure the positive impact of implemented learning changes.
