Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the main driving factors that contribute significantly to the economic improvement of a region. Despite this, MSMEs have efforts to create jobs and have high quality labor absorption. MSMEs have the ability to drive stable, long-term, and sustainable economic growth as they are considered to be able to survive even under crisis conditions. The fact that they can be established with little capital or investment means that MSMEs can be considered to have the ability to grow and develop quickly. For this reason, one of the factors that influence MSMEs to continue to develop is an understanding of good financial management, namely through financial literacy. This financial literacy is very important to study because everyone who has a business must certainly be able to understand financial literacy well, because basically this financial literacy can affect the way a person thinks about financial conditions and affect strategic decision making in terms of finance and management

Abstract

The lemongrass plant (Cymbopogon citratus) was a potential medicinal plant due to the presence of secondary metabolites such as neral, citral, geranial acetate, flavonoids, and tannins, which possess pharmacological activities including antibacterial, antifungal, and antiinflammatory. However, the antibacterial secondary metabolites contained in lemongrass leaves were unstable, hence required a substance capable of encapsulating or entrapping them using other natural compounds such as chitosan and tripolyphosphate (TPP). The chitosan and TPP ratio significantly affects crosslinking during the encapsulation process. Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes are among the bacteria potentially causing infections in the oral cavity. The aim of this research was to determine the inhibitory effect of encapsulated lemongrass leaf extract with chitosan and TPP ratios of 1:1, 1:0.9, 1:0.8, and 1:0.7 against S.aureus and S.pyogenes. The research results showed inhibition zones formed on S. aureus and S. pyogenes for each encapsulation ratio of 1:1, 1:0.9, 1:0.8, 1:0.7, were 25.09±0.62 mm, 21.01±0.13 mm, 22.78±0.39 mm, 23.96±0.14 mm, and 24.38±0.45 mm, 21.99±0.34 mm, 22.44±0.48 mm, and 20.49±0.24 mm, respectively. Encapsulation of lemongrass leaf extract using chitosan and TPP ratios was effective in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus and S. pyogenes, with the best ratio at 1:1.   Keywords:  Lemongrass leaves, encapsulation, chitosan, antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength and hand-eye coordination to the ability of underhand passing volleyball for the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency. The type of this researchis multiple correlations. The population and sample in this study were 12 players from the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service Club. The research instrument used was an arm muscle strength test with push-ups, an eyehand coordination test, and a volleyball bottom passing test. Based on the results of the study, the conclusions in this research were: (1) There was a contribution of arm muscle strength to the ability to pass under the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency's volleyball club by 58.06%, (2) There was a contribution of hand-eye coordination to theability to pass under the volleyball club Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency of 49.00%, (3) There is a contribution of arm muscle strength and hand-eye coordination to the ability to pass under the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency volleyball club of 66.10%.
