Abstract

In the digital age, children face great challenges in developing self-regulation skills, which are essential to help them manage their emotions, control impulses, and make wise decisions. Technology that offers instant gratification and pleasure is often an obstacle to the development of patience and self-control. However, on the other hand, the digital era also offers solutions through the delivery of moral stories more effectively and attractively using digital media. One approach that can be used to overcome this challenge is through learning moral stories such as Jataka, which is rich in educational values. The story of Dabbhapuppha Jataka highlights the importance of self-control and wisdom in facing challenges and changes in life. This research aims to identify the moral values in the story of Dabbhapuppha Jataka which can be developed as learning materials to improve self-regulation skills in children in the digital era. The research method used is library research, where various relevant literature is studied to explore the moral values contained in the story. In addition, digital media is also recognized as a potential means to convey the moral message of this story in a more interesting and easy-to-understand way for children. The results of this study show that the moral values of the Dabbhapuppha Jataka story can help children in developing self-regulation, including the ability to control emotions and actions in facing various life challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and disseminate a religious literacy learning module based on the Asian Buddhist Museum Dhammadasa at the Dhammadipa Arama Monastery. The module is designed to enhance visitors' religious literacy by integrating experiential learning methods and constructivist learning approaches. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) model with a 4D approach (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The development results include a learning module that encompasses exploration, reflection, and evaluation guidelines, supported by interactive technology such as augmented reality (AR). Testing of the module demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of Buddhist values, such as loving-kindness (metta), compassion (karuna), sympathetic joy (mudita), and equanimity (upekkha), as well as cross-tradition understanding of Buddhism in Asia. This article presents the dissemination of the development results as an effort to support religious moderation and cross-cultural understanding through museum-based learning

Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional, atau yang dikenal dengan emotional quotient, memiliki implikasi yang signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk spiritualitas, pendidikan, bisnis, dan psikologi. Pelatihan yang terfokus pada perhatian terhadap tubuh dapat membantu individu dalam mengelola stres, mengembangkan kesadaran diri, kebijaksanaan emosional, meningkatkan kesehatan mental, dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka. Teknik meditasi perhatian terhadap jasmani (kayagatasati) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan konsentrasi dengan mengarahkan perhatian pada sensasi tubuh dan pernapasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan baru tentang efektivitas meningkatkan emotional quotient melalui perhatian pada jasmani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan melakukan studi pustaka dari berbagai sumber, termasuk jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan artikel. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa perhatian pada jasmani efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan konsentrasi. Integrasi pelatihan perhatian terhadap jasmani dalam pendidikan formal dan pelatihan profesional diusulkan sebagai sarana untuk membantu meningkatkan emotional quotient individu sejak dini dan dalam karir profesional mereka. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa perhatian pada jasmani merupakan strategi yang berpotensi efektif untuk meningkatkan emotional quotient. Oleh karena itu, penelitian lebih lanjut yang mendalam tentang topik ini sangat penting untuk dilakukan guna memperdalam pemahaman dan penerapannya dalam konteks yang lebih luas.
