Abstract

The changing times are affecting various fields including technology. Gawai is an electronic device or instrument that has a purpose and function to facilitate the work done by humans. Gadgets can have both positive and negative impacts on their users. This study aims to determine the effect of the duration of gadget use on the learning achievement of 4th and 5th-grade students at SDN Sumbon 3 Indramayu. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The data obtained was processed using the Chi-Square test. Of the 63 respondents, 23 people used gadgets for more than 3 hours. The results of the Chi-Square test did not find a relationship between the duration of device use and learning achievement of Sumbon 3 elementary school students as evidenced by the results of statistical test research obtained p value of (0.157) > α value (0.05). This study concludes that there is no relationship between the duration of device use and learning achievement of 4th and 5th-grade students of SDN Sumbon 3 Indramayu.

Abstract

This research focuses on evaluating the integration of digital literacy practices at SD Negeri 195 Palembang utilizing observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and student questionnaire distribution. Digital competency represents an essential 21st-century skill set that should be cultivated from primary education levels; yet its application across educational settings continues to encounter multiple obstacles. The study adopted a descriptive design through a combined qualitative-quantitative methodology. Information gathering was conducted via school infrastructure observation, dialogues with school administrators and teaching staff, and survey distribution to 30 pupils from grades III, V, and VI. Research outcomes reveal that SDN 195 Palembang has initiated digital literacy implementation by utilizing basic digital tools, the WhatsApp platform for communication purposes, and introductory coding activities for senior-grade learners. Primary challenges include inadequate facilities such as only two available projectors, non-existent computer laboratories, and inconsistent internet access. Survey data demonstrates that pupils' digital literacy competence reaches the high classification with a mean score of 79%. Conversely, dimensions concerning digital security and online ethics remain at moderate levels, registering 51%. In summary, digital literacy practices at SDN 195 Palembang have advanced reasonably well, though enhancements are necessary through infrastructure expansion, educator capacity building, and reinforcement of digital safety and ethical education from early stages.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the forms of politeness and impoliteness in netizen comments on TikTok regarding the Free Nutritious Meals program. The digital communication phenomenon on TikTok often gives rise to polarized opinions that impact people's choice of language style in the public sphere. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the data in this study consist of excerpts of comments containing evaluative content regarding the policy. The analysis was conducted by applying Leech's politeness principle theory, which includes the maxims of wisdom, generosity, praise, humility, agreement, and sympathy. The results show that although some comments fulfill the principles of politeness as a form of support for the program, there are still many violations of politeness, dominated by the maxims of agreement and praise. This impoliteness often manifests in the form of sarcasm, sharp criticism, and the use of informal diction that tends to be provocative. Factors causing this low politeness are influenced by user anonymity, differences in political views, and skepticism towards the program's implementation mechanisms in the field. This study concludes that TikTok's comment space on public policy issues still requires more in-depth digital literacy education to create a healthier and more civilized discussion climate.

Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education in regular elementary schools often faces severe challenges due to limited facilities and the absence of special assistant teachers. This study aims to deeply describe the implementation of inclusive learning for Students with Special Needs (ABK) and analyze the various constraints experienced by these students in elementary schools. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out at SD Negeri 16 Banyuasin 1 through participatory classroom observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, classroom teacher, and parents, as well as documentation study. Data validity was tested using source, technique, and time triangulation. The results revealed that inclusive learning was implemented through full integration in regular classrooms. Without a Special Assistance Teacher (GPK), the classroom teacher independently performed instructional differentiation, such as reducing daily task loads for ABK students, using visual media, and loosening assessment standards into authentic evaluations. However, the learning participation of ABK students is still hindered by two main constraints. Internally, students experience difficulties in understanding materials, short concentration spans, communication barriers, and unstable emotional conditions. Externally, the learning process is severely hindered by the absence of GPK which creates a double burden for teachers, unadaptive methods and facilities, and minimal parental involvement due to low parenting literacy and economic pressure. In conclusion, inclusion policies that merely focus on physical integration in regular classrooms have not been able to optimize ABK's potential without GPK support and intensive communication with families.
