Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of Economic Education students at Muhammadiyah University of Sampit regarding the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in the learning process. The integration of AI in higher education has become a global phenomenon that is transforming learning paradigms; however, understanding of how students evaluate and interpret this technology remains limited, particularly within the context of Economic Education in Indonesia. This study involved 15 students selected through purposive sampling and employed a descriptive qualitative approach grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically using NVivo 12 Pro.The findings reveal that students perceive AI as enhancing learning effectiveness, being easy to use, and fostering academic motivation and independence. Four major themes emerged: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using, and behavioral intention to use. The acceptance of AI was found to encompass not only technological dimensions but also social-emotional aspects. This study reinforces the relevance of TAM within the Indonesian higher education context and provides implications for developing ethical, creative, and adaptive technology-based learning policies aligned with students’ needs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Deep Learning approach on students’ critical thinking skills in Economics subjects for Grade X students at SMAS PGRI 2 Sampit. Critical thinking is one of the essential 21st-century competencies that needs to be developed to enable students to face various complex problems. In practice, economics learning is still often teacher-centered, causing students to memorize concepts without fully understanding their meaning. The Deep Learning approach serves as an alternative learning strategy that emphasizes meaningful, reflective, contextual, and student-centered learning. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation and interviews. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Deep Learning approach was able to improve students’ understanding of economic concepts, increase their active participation in learning activities, enhance their ability to analyze economic problems, develop their ability to express opinions logically, and strengthen their self-confidence. These findings indicate that Deep Learning can be an effective learning strategy for improving students’ critical thinking skills in Economics subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of parenting patterns on children's character development in Batuah Village in 2025/2026. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects consisted of two 12-year-old children with the initials NLH and NRH, and one parent with the initials Mrs. M. The technique for data collection was carried out through structured in-depth interviews, while data analysis was carried out using the NVivo 12 application through the components Word Cloud and Word Tree to identify the relationship between parenting styles and children's character development. The results of the study indicate that the parenting style applied by parents tends towards permissive parenting, characterized by weak parental control, loose and free parenting, a lack of rules and boundaries, and excessive freedom. This condition is influenced by parents' busy work schedules, resulting in suboptimal supervision and guidance of children. In terms of character, children have demonstrated positive attitudes such as respecting elders and understanding the importance of trust. However, character development indicators such as emotions, habits, and desires have not developed optimally. Children still have difficulty controlling their emotions, exhibit aggressive behavior, have negative habits such as hitting and pitting friends against each other, and tend to follow their own desires. Nevertheless, children have understood the importance of trust and strive to repair relationships after making mistakes.
