Abstract

This research examines the methodology of critical analysis of hadith matans as an effort to ensure the authenticity and validity of hadiths in the context of Islamic scholarship. The main focus of the research is to identify and analyze critical parameters used in assessing the validity of matan hadith, as well as their implementation in specific case studies. Through a qualitative approach with content and comparative analysis methods, this research reveals that critical analysis of hadith matan requires a comprehensive understanding of the linguistic, historical and doctrinal aspects of Islam. The research results show the importance of integrating multiple criteria in the hadith matan verification process to ensure the validity and applicability of the hadith in the contemporary context.

Abstract

Kufa is one of the strategic cities in the history of Islamic civilization that has made a great contribution to the development of hadith science. Founded during the time of Caliph Umar bin al-Khattab, Kufa developed into an intellectual center inhabited by companions and tabi'in, as well as an important arena for the transmission and study of hadith. This city is not only known as the location of hadith narration, but also as a place for the growth of various schools of fiqh and theological thought that influenced the formation of Islamic scientific methodology. This research aims to examine the traces and dynamics of hadith narration in the Kufa madrasah, by tracing the contributions of scholars, the development of scientific institutions, and the influence of socio-political situations on the transmission of hadith. This study uses a qualitative approach with historical methods and literature analysis, focusing on classical sources and contemporary studies of the hadith and intellectual history of Kufa. The results of the study show that hadith madrassas in Kufah developed in a dynamic socio-political context and full of sectarian debates. Kufa scholars developed a rational and critical approach to the narration of hadith, which had a significant impact on the development of hadith science and fiqh thought. Political dynamics and the emergence of various schools of thought such as Shi'ah, Khawarij, and Ahlus Sunnah also shaped the plural and analytical scientific character of Kufa. Thus, the hadith madrassas in Kufa not only inherited a strong tradition of hadith transmission, but also made an influential methodological contribution to the history of Islamic science. This study emphasizes the importance of Kufa's position as the epicenter of hadith science that continues to have an impact on the development of Islamic studies to the present day.

Abstract

Ta'arudh adillah or conflict between shar'i propositions is one of the fundamental problems in ushul fiqh that requires special attention. The resolution of ta'arudh adillah is crucial to ensure that arguments that appear to be contradictory can be compromised or chosen one of them appropriately, thus maintaining the continuity of understanding Islamic law. This research uses a qualitative approach by analyzing various classical literature by scholars in ushul fiqh. The descriptive-analytical method is applied to explain the concept of ta'arudh adillah, identify the causes of conflict, and evaluate the methods of resolution used by the scholars. The study shows that ta'arudh adillah can be caused by various factors, such as differences in text interpretation, the historical context of the argument, or the level of strength of the argument. The scholars used various methods of resolution, such as tarjih (choosing the stronger argument), nasakh (canceling the previous argument), and jama' (compromising arguments that appear to be contradictory). A deep understanding of the method of resolving ta'arudh adillah can help in applying Islamic law consistently and relevantly. This research makes a significant contribution to the understanding of this concept and its relevance in the modern context.
