Abstract

Over time, research models on these two primary sources of Islam have undergone a methodological transformation, from traditional, history-based approaches to contextual, interdisciplinary approaches. This article aims to comprehensively examine research models on the Qur'an and Hadith, both classical and modern, and their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges. This research uses a qualitative approach based on library research. The results indicate that research models on the Qur'an and Hadith are dynamic and adaptive to developments in science, without abandoning the principles of textual authenticity.

Abstract

This study aims to understand Islamic practices in the modern era as a social phenomenon shaped by changes in technology, culture, and social structure. Modernity, globalization, and the development of digital media have created new ways for Muslims to express, understand, and practice their religion in everyday life. The research uses a qualitative approach with a socio-religious ethnographic design that combines anthropological and sociological perspectives. Data were collected through participant observation, documentation of religious practices, and analysis of digital media and relevant academic sources. The analysis was conducted thematically and interpretatively to understand the meaning of religious practices within their social and cultural contexts. The findings show that contemporary Islamic practices are increasingly diverse, flexible, and connected to digital technology, while still shaped by local culture and social structures. Religious authority has become more open, and religious identity is increasingly integrated with modern lifestyles. The discussion indicates that changes in religious practice occur through processes of adaptation and negotiation between tradition and modernity, allowing Islamic practice to continue developing as a dynamic and lived social experience in contemporary society.

Abstract

This article aims to examine legal research methods in Islamic education through normative, empirical, and contextual analysis. Islamic education, as an interdisciplinary field of study, requires a methodological approach capable of bridging Islamic legal norms, the realities of educational practice, and the surrounding social context. This research employs a qualitative approach with library research. Data were obtained from primary sources, including the Quran, Hadith, Islamic education laws and regulations, and secondary sources, including books and articles from reputable national and international journals. The results of the study indicate that normative legal research plays a role in examining the legal and normative foundations of Islamic education, empirical legal research serves to examine the implementation of Islamic educational law in social practice, while a contextual approach enables adaptive legal interpretation to societal dynamics. The integration of these three approaches produces a comprehensive and relevant methodological framework for the development of contemporary Islamic education.
