Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di Kelas IX SMP Advent Tondano Kab.Minahasa melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek yang dikenai tindakan adalah seluruh siswa di Kelas IX SMP Advent Tondano Kab.Minahasa yang berjumlah 29 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dari keseluruhan hasil analisis data, baik data observasi awal maupun data pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2 menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada setiap tahapan penelitian. Pada saat observasi awal, motivasi belajar siswa di di Kelas IX SMP Advent Tondano hanya berjumlah 28% dari keseluruhan siswa yang berjumlah 29 orang, namun setelah diberikan tindakan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning meningkat menjadi 59,67% sedangkan pada siklus 2 mengalami peningkatan hingga mencapai 89,33%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis tindakan yang berbunyi; “Jika dalam pembelajaran digunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning maka motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di Kelas IX SMP Advent Tondano Kab.Minahasa akan meningkat maka penelitian ini dinyatakan berhasil atau hipotesisnya diterima. Kata Kunci : Motivasi Belajar, Problem Based Learning, Peserta didik ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to increase student learning motivation in social studies subjects in Class IX Adventist Middle School Tondano, Minahasa Regency through the Problem Based Learning learning model. The research method used is classroom action research. The subjects subject to action were all 29 Class IX students of Tondano Adventist Middle School, Minahasa Regency. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, observation and documentation. The research results show that the overall results of data analysis, both initial observation data and data in cycle 1 and cycle 2, show an increase in student learning motivation at each stage of the research. At the time of the initial observation, the learning motivation of class IX students at Advent Tondano Middle School was only 28% of the total 29 students, but after being given learning actions using the problem based learning model it increased to 59.67%, while in cycle 2 it increased to 89.33%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the action hypothesis reads; "If the problem-based learning model is used in learning, students' learning motivation in social studies subjects in Class IX of Adventist Middle School, Tondano, Minahasa Regency will increase so that this research is declared successful or the hypothesis is accepted.
