Abstract

Abstract

The current development of the furniture industry is becoming increasingly competitive and demands a more efficient and systematically documented product testing process. This study aims to design and develop an online-based information system for reporting the testing process and results of furniture products at XYZ Company. The development method used is prototyping, which allows for iteration and continuous improvement based on user feedback. The results indicate that this application can enhance the quality of data recording for tests, making it more structured, minimizing potential human errors, and accelerating the reporting process. Therefore, XYZ Company is recommended to continue developing application features, including integration with artificial intelligence technology for predictive quality analysis, as well as implementing higher data security standards to ensure the sustainability of innovation in the long term.

Abstract

Implementing information systems in manufacturing aims to improve operational efficiency and service quality. This study evaluates the acceptance of Internal Service Order (ISO) applications with the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM), that adds variables such as information quality, system quality and user habits. PLS-SEM analysis of 31 respondents found that user habits significantly influenced perceived ease of use (77.8%), which in turn influenced perceived usefulness (86.4%) and user attitude (62%). However, information quality did not significantly influence user habits, suggesting a need to improve information detail. These findings will help develop a TAM model for Indonesian furniture companies. The study recommends the improvement of information accuracy, the development of real-time notification features, and user training to increase adoption and operational efficiency This study provides guidance for organizations to optimize the application of technology in manufacturing operations.

Abstract

Technological advancements and competitive challenges in the industrial sector have driven an increasing need for information systems. The implementation of information systems is believed to significantly enhance a company’s operational effectiveness and efficiency. In the furniture manufacturing industry, production machines are critical assets that require regular maintenance. PT Ebako Nusantara operates more than 200 production machines. Overall, the demand for machine repairs at PT Ebako Nusantara is managed manually, leading to frequent delays and difficulties in tracking repair history. To address these issues, this study was conducted with the aim of utilizing information systems and data analytics, enabling the company to predict machine maintenance and minimize production downtime. The study results show that furniture manufacturing companies that adopt information systems experience a 22% increase in production efficiency and a 50% reduction in production errors. The development process of the ISO application adopts the Agile methodology with six stages: planning, implementation, software testing, documentation, application deployment, and maintenance. The features available in the application include submitting repair requests and tracking machine repairs, which are designed to streamline and expedite the machine repair workflow. This research has facilitated interdepartmental integration in terms of machine repair requests, significantly improving operational efficiency. The use of the ISO application also simplifies the maintenance department’s scheduling of technicians for machine repairs and routine maintenance.
