Abstract

The ability to solve problems is very important for students to engage in the process of learning mathematics. In this study, students' ability to solve mathematical problems will be studied using Polya's indicators. The purpose of this study is to characterize the ability of grade IX Junior High School students to solve mathematical problems directly. The type of research conducted here is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects used in this study were about thirty students from State Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru for the 2023/2024 academic year in Class IX.3. Data collection was carried out by giving a validated test instrument, which was then sorted based on the mathematical problem-solving ability test scores. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data analysis, and data estimation. The results of the analysis for each indicator of mathematical problem-solving ability reached an average of 38.325% and fell into the low category because many students solved the problem of integer material not by the stages of the indicator and errors were found in students' answers. Based on these results, it can be concluded that students' mathematical problem-solving skills are classified as weak/low.

Abstract

Learning media is the main support in making learning in the classroom a success. Training through PKM activities can be a place to explore potential and provide space for teachers to hone their skills in making interesting learning videos as learning media. This PKM activity was attended by 42 Meranti Islands Mathematics MGMP teachers in the hall of SMAN 2 Tebing Tinggi Selat Panjang for 2 days, namely Friday-Saturday, 30 to 31 August 2024 using the participant's active participation devotion method. This PKM activity method is carried out in 6 stages, namely: 1) survey and outreach, 2) preparation of plans and preparation of activity materials, 3) counseling, 4) training, 5) implementation of service outcomes, and 6) evaluation. The result of this PKM activity was that teachers' skills in making learning videos with InShot were honed and had a positive impression with 86% of participants succeeding in making interesting learning videos. It can be concluded that this PKM activity was successful and is really needed by teachers to continue to be held by honing other skills which can make teachers more competent in teaching and delivering learning.

Abstract

However, the recording process which is still done manually at SDN Jorongan I causes various obstacles, such as limitations in data storage, difficulty in searching for information, and the potential for data loss. This study aims to design and build a web-based student violation recording information system to improve efficiency and accuracy in managing violation data. The system development method used is the Waterfall method, with stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The result of this study is a web-based application that can be used by teachers to record violations, view student violation history, and generate reports automatically. This system is designed using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. System testing shows that the application can run well and is accepted by users as an effective solution in the process of recording violations at SDN Jorongan I. With this system, it is hoped that the student coaching process can run more structured and well documented.
