Abstract

Red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the vegetable commodities that is widely consumed by the majority of Indonesian people. The aim of conducting this research is to find out how to select and select red chili seeds (Capsicum annuum L.) that are good and suitable to be used as new superior and quality plant seeds. The research method we use is a research method based on data from previous research and practical work carried out directly. This research was conducted in September 2024, which was carried out in the FST building at Nias University. This research used one chili by cutting off both ends of the chili and the middle part was used as a candidate for new seeds after going through a selection process. The results of this research show that seed selection and selection techniques also determine the superiority and variety of superior plant seeds and produce good products. Selection and selection of chili seeds to be used as potential new seeds must be carried out to avoid failure in cultivation and, moreover, product results that are not good or satisfactory.

Abstract

Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) are food crops that have high economic value due to their high nutritional content, especially protein and fat. The purpose of this study is to ensure that the accuracy of watering plants, especially peanut plants, must be truly considered in order to maintain optimal plant growth and development. The research method used is field work practice by cultivating peanut plants directly in Dahan Tabaloho Village, Gunungsitoli District. From the research conducted, it was proven that the effect of accuracy in watering peanut plants greatly affects the growth and development of these plants. When the accuracy in watering is not optimal, it will interfere with the growth of peanut plants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan pupuk organik dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman hortikultura dan dampaknya terhadap kualitas tanah. Masalah utama yang dihadapi dalam pertanian hortikultura adalah penurunan kualitas tanah akibat penggunaan pupuk kimia secara berlebihan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur (literature review) yang mengevaluasi berbagai penelitian terkait pupuk organik dan pupuk kimia, dengan fokus pada perbandingan dampaknya terhadap tanah dan tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk organik dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman hortikultura dengan cara meningkatkan kandungan vitamin, kadar gula, serta berat segar tanaman. Selain itu, pupuk organik juga memperbaiki kualitas tanah, meningkatkan kandungan bahan organik, porositas tanah, dan aktivitas mikroba tanah, yang mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman yang lebih sehat. Sebaliknya, penggunaan pupuk kimia dapat merusak struktur tanah, menurunkan keanekaragaman mikroba, serta menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pupuk organik menawarkan keuntungan jangka panjang bagi keberlanjutan tanah dan produktivitas pertanian
