Abstract

Tes keterampilan berbicara merupakan salah satu tes yang masih jarang diimplementasikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi tes keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab di pesantren bahasa oleh pengajar native speaker beserta respon mahasiswa terhadapnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data primer dan sekunder, teknik pengumpulan datanya observasi, wawancara, dan dokumtasi, sedangkan analisis datanya dilakukan melalui reduksi data, pengajiaannya hingga conlusion drawing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tes yang digunakan native speaker adalah tes lisan dengan mengacu pada materi yang diajarkan berbasis pengembangan, sehingga melatih mahasiswa mengembangkan keterampilan berbicaranya, pelaksaan tes juga diawali dengan rencana yang baik dan diakhiri dengan refleksi yangbaik. Tes ini mendapatkan respon baik dari mahasiswa, berdasarkan data kuesioner tentang pernyataan positif terkait implementasi tes yang menunjukkan rata-rata respon setuju 46,40%, sangat setuju 38,30%, tidak setuju 15,30% dan 0% untuk respon sangat tidak setuju. Hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan inovasi desain penerapan tes keterampilan berbicara yang efektif.

Abstract

As part of community empowerment efforts and the promotion of environmental literacy among Islamic boarding school students (santri), this community service activity aimed to provide training on the production of ecoenzymes from domestic waste as an environmentally friendly and economically valuable waste management solution. The training was conducted in the form of an integrated workshop that included hands-on practice in making ecoenzymes, producing eco-friendly soap, product packaging, and digital marketing training. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in utilizing waste into useful products with entrepreneurial potential. This was measured by indicators such as the ability to explain the concept and steps of product making, as well as the ability to practice them—evaluated through direct Q&A with participants after the training. This initiative marked the beginning of building a self-sufficient, productive, and environmentally conscious pesantren ecosystem.

Abstract

The integration of mobile technology in elementary Arabic language learning has increased; however, empirical studies examining the effectiveness of customizable app-development platforms for vocabulary instruction remain limited and underexplored. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a Thunkable-based mobile learning application in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Matlaul Athfal Cilengkrang, Bandung. Addressing the limited empirical studies on the use of app-development platforms for elementary-level Arabic instruction, this research employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. A total of 41 students participated, comprising an experimental group (n = 20) and a control group (n = 21). Data were collected through pre- and post-tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-sample and independent-sample t-tests, as well as N-Gain analysis. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group’s vocabulary mastery compared to the control group (p < 0.05). The experimental group achieved a moderate N-Gain score (55.75%), while the control group demonstrated a lower level of improvement (34.43%). These findings indicate that Thunkable-based mobile learning is an effective and interactive medium for enhancing Arabic vocabulary acquisition at the elementary level. The study contributes to research on mobile-assisted language learning by demonstrating the pedagogical potential of customizable mobile applications in Arabic language education. It offers practical implications for teachers integrating digital learning tools.
