Abstract

Background: Stunting is a global health problem that affects children's physical growth and cognitive development. Exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life is believed to reduce the risk of stunting. However, the direct link between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting prevention is still debated, with other factors such as the quality of complementary foods and socioeconomic conditions also affecting. Methods: This literature review used systematic searches through PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Garuda databases, with relevant keywords regarding the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting. Selected articles must be relevant and published within the last five years, and include studies examining the impact of exclusive breastfeeding on stunting in children under five years of age. Results:  Out of 440 articles found, ten relevant articles were selected for analysis. Some studies have shown a significant association between exclusive breastfeeding and a reduced risk of stunting in toddlers, but there are also studies that show that environmental and socioeconomic factors play an important role in stunting prevention. Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding has a key role in preventing stunting, but its success is influenced by various supporting factors such as social support, maternal knowledge, and environmental and socioeconomic conditions. Therefore, stunting prevention must be carried out with a more holistic approach that includes exclusive breastfeeding and improvement of external factors.

Method: The research method used is an analytic descriptive design using a cross sectional design. The population is all mothers who have children aged 7-9 and children aged 7-9 years at SD 14 Kudamati Ambon, totaling 32 people. Sampling using total sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 32 people. Result: The results of the study showed that mothers who had good knowledge about dental caries had children who did not experience dental caries, namely 20 people (95.2%). Evidenced by the results of statistical tests using the chi square test obtained a value of P = 0.000 (α <0.05), which means there is a relationship betweenmother’s knowledge of the incidence of dental caries in Ambon 14 Public Elementary School. Abstract

Free sex behavior among adolescents is a global issue that requires serious attention in efforts to prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and unwanted pregnancies . The results of the study on the effectiveness of interventions in increasing the knowledge of abdimas participants about the topics discussed. Results showed a significant increase from 38.2% to 88.2% in the number of abdimas participants who had good knowledge after the intervention. Some of the factors contributing to this increase include interactive and structured outreach methods, as well as participant involvement in intervention activities. Social interaction and exchange of experiences are also considered to play an important role in enriching participants' understanding. Although knowledge is the first step, behavior change requires consideration of other factors such as attitudes, social norms, and the environment. The integration of these components in intervention programs can amplify the positive effects of increased knowledge.

Abstract

Introduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease that requires long-term treatment with high compliance. Compliance in taking medication is a key factor that affects the recovery of tuberculosis patients. In the Passo Health Center work area, it is important to understand the factors that influence this compliance in order to improve treatment outcomes. Method: This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional analytical survey design conducted in November 2023. The study population consisted of 40 pulmonary tuberculosis patients undergoing OAT treatment. The total sampling technique was used to collect samples, with a purposive sampling approach based on certain criteria. Results: The results showed that 75% of patients had good knowledge about their disease. As many as 87.5% of patients received good family support, and 75% of patients were always supervised in taking medication. However, only 62.5% of patients were compliant in taking medication as recommended. Factors such as lack of knowledge (25%), inadequate family support (12.5%), and lack of supervision in taking medication (25%) contribute to non-compliance, which in turn can lead to therapy failure and drug resistance. Conclusion: Compliance of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in treatment is greatly influenced by knowledge, family support, and supervision of taking medication. Interventions that focus on improving education, strengthening family support, and stricter supervision in treatment are needed to improve healing and prevent drug resistance.

Abstract

Mental health issues during pregnancy affect 15–25% of women, leading to complications such as preterm birth and low birth weight. Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) offer a promising non-pharmacological approach to reducing stress, anxiety, and depression while enhancing maternal and infant well-being. Objective: This review evaluates the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy in improving pregnant women's mental health by reducing anxiety, stress, and depression. A literature review was conducted using PubMed (236), ScienceDirect (106), Google Scholar (965), and Garuda (231) databases . Studies published in the last ten years (2014-2024) on the effects of Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) on maternal mental health were analyzed. From an initial 1,529 articles, only 10 studies met the inclusion criteria. MBIs, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), effectively reduce anxiety, stress, and depression. They improve emotional regulation, quality of life, and mother-infant bonding. Digital mindfulness interventions also show similar benefits. Mindfulness therapy significantly improves mental health during pregnancy, promoting maternal and infant well-being. Integrating MBIs into maternal healthcare services is recommended as an effective non-pharmacological approach.
