Abstract

Ranup Lampuan is an art form created specifically to maintain the customs and culture in Aceh. The dance reflects the customs of the Acehnese people, namely the peumulia custom. jamee . Peumulia jamie which is meant comes from the Acehnese language which means honoring guests. One form of honoring guests is by offering betel to the guests who are present. However, the giving of betel in this dance has shifted, namely when the dancer offers betel, the guest gives money to the dancer. This activity is a new phenomenon that has emerged in the Ranup dance The lights are called sawer. This attracts the author's attention to find out how the process of giving money emerged and why the giving of money, which is called sawer, appears in the Ranup dance. Lamp . In this study, the author uses the theory of symbolic interactionism in solving the formulation of problems that arise and to achieve answers to the formulation of the problem. This dance was created by Yuslizar in 1959. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results obtained from field is Ranup dance presentation form The lighting which consists of movement forms, accompanying music, floor patterns, costumes and properties as well as the phenomenon of giving money is still carried out today.

Abstract

Peumulia Jamee's dance service activity at SDN 1 Bireun was carried out to introduce traditional Acehnese arts to elementary school students as well as instill character values through cultural arts. The program uses a participatory approach and qualitative methods by involving students in grades V and VI, accompanying teachers, and principals as partners. The implementation of activities includes the preparation stage of dance materials, routine exercises twice a week, performance simulations, and final evaluation. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre- and post-implementation questionnaires. The results of the service showed a significant improvement in students' dance skills, an understanding of Peumulia Jamee's philosophical values, and confidence in displaying traditional arts in public. Students also show positive behavioral changes in school that reflect the internalization of cultural values. Factors supporting the success of this program include student enthusiasm, teacher and parent support, and adaptation of training methods. This program proves that traditional arts can be an effective means for cultural preservation, character education, and the strengthening of local identity at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Rapai Geleng merupakan salah satu seni tradisional Aceh yang mengandung nilai religius, sosial, dan budaya yang penting bagi identitas masyarakat. Namun, dalam konteks modern, eksistensinya menghadapi tantangan akibat perubahan sosial dan pergeseran preferensi budaya generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis eksistensi Rapai Geleng dalam nilai-nilai budaya lokal di Kota Banda Aceh serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelestariannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap seniman, pengelola sanggar, tokoh adat, dan pemerintah daerah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rapai Geleng masih tetap eksis melalui ruang-ruang seremonial seperti acara adat, keagamaan, dan festival budaya, meskipun intensitas dan ruang ekspresinya semakin terbatas. Nilai budaya seperti religiusitas, kebersamaan, dan penghormatan terhadap tradisi masih melekat dalam kesenian ini. Namun, minimnya regenerasi pelaku seni, penetrasi budaya populer, serta kurangnya integrasi pendidikan seni tradisional menjadi tantangan utama pelestarian. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pelestarian Rapai Geleng memerlukan sinergi antara komunitas seni, pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan, dan masyarakat, serta dapat dikembangkan dalam konteks ekonomi kreatif dan pariwisata budaya tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai budayanya
