Abstract

This study aims to analyze the proposed relocation of the Kerabut market to a more strategic location. The relocation of the market is driven by congestion and accident-prone problems that often occur in the previous location due to the lack of good spatial planning. In addition, many traders sell without permits around the market location, thus disturbing the order and cleanliness of the environment. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach to describe the current condition of the Kerabut market and the potential benefits of relocation. Economic feasibility analysis using the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Benefit/Cost Ratio, and Payback Period methods will be applied to measure the effectiveness of the investment in the new market development. The results of this study are expected to provide comprehensive recommendations regarding the Kerabut market relocation plan, so as to improve efficiency, safety, and convenience for traders.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of population and Human Development Index (HDI) on poverty in Jambi Province in the period 2018–2024. Using panel data from 11 districts/cities and regression methods with the best approach Random Effect Model (REM), the results show that poverty in Jambi tends to fluctuate. Tanjung Jabung Timur has the highest poverty rate, while Sungai Penuh City has the lowest. This study provides empirical understanding to support the formulation of more targeted poverty alleviation policies at the regional level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of population size and open unemployment rate on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Riau Province. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The data used is secondary data based on districts/cities in Riau Province obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analysis results indicate that population size has a positive and significant effect on the HDI, while the open unemployment rate has a negative and significant effect. The F-test also shows that both variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the HDI. The R-squared value of 56.08% indicates that the model adequately explains the variation in the HDI. These findings suggest that improving population quality and reducing unemployment rates are key factors in enhancing human development quality in Riau Province.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between interest rates, exchange rates, and inflation in Indonesia during the period 1994–2023 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach. The data used are monthly time series secondary data obtained from the World Bank. The Johansen cointegration test results indicate a long-term relationship among the three variables. However, the Granger causality test finds no significant short-term causal relationship. The VECM estimation reveals that inflation is the most responsive variable in correcting long-term disequilibrium, while the exchange rate plays a dominant role in influencing both inflation and interest rates. The Impulse Response Function and Variance Decomposition results indicate that these variables interact dynamically, especially in the medium to long term. These findings highlight the importance of exchange rate stabilization and enhancing the effectiveness of monetary policy to maintain macroeconomic stability in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims ti analyze the effect of the Human Development Index (HDI), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) on the poverty rate in Gorontalo Province. The study uses panel data from six districts/cities over the period 2017–2024 and is analyzed using panel data regression methods. Based on the results of the Chow test, Hausman test, and Lagrange Multiplier test, the best model used is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The analysis results show that simultaneously, the three independent variables have a significant effect on the poverty rate. However, partially, only the GRDP variable has a negative and significant effect on poverty. Meanwhile, the HDI and OUR variables show a negative but statistically insignificant effect on the poverty rate in Gorontalo Province.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of household consumption and investment on the open unemployment rate in West Kalimantan over both short and long terms. Using time series data from 1995–2024 and employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) in EViews 12, results show all variables become stationary after first differencing. Johansen cointegration confirms a long-run equilibrium relationship. VECM findings reveal that investment significantly increases unemployment in the long run, while household consumption has no significant effect. In the short term, a significant error correction mechanism exists, indicating adjustment toward long-run equilibrium. Diagnostic tests confirm model validity through absence of autocorrelation and normally distributed residuals. These results highlight the need for more targeted policies to reduce unemployment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Minimum Wage on the realization of FDI in five districts / cities in East Kalimantan during the period 2017-2023. The method used is a quantitative approach with panel data and multiple linear regression analysis using Eviews 9 software. The test results show that the best model is the Common Effect Model (CEM). Partially, the GRDP variable has a positive and significant effect on FDI realization, while the minimum wage variable has no significant effect. Simultaneously, both independent variables have a significant effect on FDI. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) of 82.5% indicates that variations in FDI can be explained by GRDP and MSE. This finding confirms the importance of encouraging regional economic growth to attract more foreign investment, as well as considering the balance between labor cost incentives and labor welfare.

Abstract

Economic growth in the G20 countries in the upper middle income group has increased or decreased. The aim is to analyze the influence of foreign direct investment, control of corruption, population growth and trade opportunities on economic growth in the G20 countries in the upper middle income group. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regression using the E-views computer program and the data used is panel data. The results of this research explain that the variables of Foreign Direct Investment, Corruption Control, Population Growth and Trade Openness obtained an Fcount value of 2.649623 which is greater than the Ftable in this study of 2.086758 (2.649623 > 2.086758). The conclusion is that the variables of Foreign Direct Investment, Corruption Control, Population Growth and Trade Openness simultaneously have a significant effect on Economic Growth in 8 Upper Middle Income Group Countries.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of infrastructure and the quality of human resources (HR) on economic competitiveness in Central Java Province. In the era of globalization, competitiveness is an important indicator of regional progress. Infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, and digital connectivity support economic efficiency, while quality human resources increase productivity and innovation. Despite their importance, development imbalances remain a challenge in Central Java. This study uses panel data from BPS and is analyzed using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) method based on Chow and Hausman tests. The results show that together, infrastructure and human capital have a significant effect on economic competitiveness. However, separately, both have a negative and insignificant influence, with regression coefficients of -0.000195 for infrastructure and -0.0176 for human capital. The Adjusted R-squared value of 0.3149 indicates that 31.49% of the variation in competitiveness is explained by these two variables. This finding is important for determining the direction of future regional development policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamic relationship between population density, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita, and regional economic inequality in Indonesia over the period 1995–2024. Regional inequality is measured using the Gini Ratio as a key indicator. A quantitative method with a time series approach is employed using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model. The analysis includes unit root testing, optimal lag selection, VAR estimation, impulse response function (IRF), variance decomposition, and Granger causality testing. The results show that population density has a positive effect on regional inequality, while GRDP per capita has a negative effect. However, both variables are statistically insignificant. The impulse response analysis indicates that a shock in population density tends to increase inequality in the short term, whereas a shock in GRDP per capita tends to reduce inequality. The Granger causality test reveals that population density regional inequality, while GRDP per capita does not have a significant causal effect. Overall, the findings suggest the importance of equitable economic development and population control policies in reducing regional disparities in Indonesia.
