This study aims to analyze market aspects, including demand potential, segmentation, competition, and consumer behavior, as the primary pillar to support business sustainability. This research employs a qualitative method based on literature studies by reviewing various sources such as scholarly journals, industry reports, and other relevant documents. The findings indicate that understanding market dynamics provides substantial competitive advantages, particularly in designing marketing strategies responsive to consumer needs and market changes. The literature analysis also highlights that business success heavily depends on the ability of business actors to comprehend market trends, anticipate competition, and effectively leverage opportunities. These findings have significant implications in assisting business practitioners, investors, and policymakers in developing data-driven business strategies that support long-term sustainability. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent to which inflation affects the purchasing power of gold among the people of Medan City in 2024. The population in this study consists of individuals or customers who are known to invest in gold, totaling 203 people based on available data. The sampling method used a probability sampling approach, which provides an equal opportunity for each member of the population to be selected as a respondent. The determination of the number of samples used the Slovin formula, which considers a certain margin of error, so that a representative sample of 70 people was obtained. To analyze the data, this study used the SEM-PLS approach. This analysis includes two main stages: first, testing the outer model to evaluate the validity and reliability of the indicators; and second, testing the inner model to see the relationship between latent variables. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, it was found that inflation has a positive and significant effect on the purchasing power of gold. This finding shows that changes in the inflation rate are correlated with increasing gold transaction activity among the community, especially as a form of protection against asset value.
