Abstract

This paper explores the complex security challenges Japan faces in response to North Korea’s advancing weapons program and the implications for regional stability in East Asia. North Korea’s growing missile and nuclear capabilities pose significant threats, driving Japan to reconsider its security policies within the constraints of its pacifist constitution and longstanding U.S. alliance. This study analyzes Japan's adaptations to its Self-Defense Forces, increased defense spending, and enhanced missile defense systems as part of a strategic shift toward greater security autonomy. In a comparative analysis, Japan’s approach is evaluated alongside the security frameworks of South Korea and the United States, while considering the roles of China and Russia as influential regional actors. The study follows a qualitative framework based on secondary data. Policy recommendations emphasize the need for strategic flexibility, advancements in missile defense technology, and multilateral collaboration with allies. Long-term implications underscore how North Korea’s militarization could reshape the geopolitical landscape, necessitating a proactive, cooperative approach to maintain regional stability and deter potential conflict. This analysis offers insights into future directions for Japanese security policy and highlights areas for further research, including the impact of North Korea’s internal policies on regional security dynamics.

Abstract

This review explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in supply chain management (SCM), providing a comprehensive overview of its applications across key functions such as procurement, production, inventory management, logistics, and customer service. AI technologies, including machine learning, predictive analytics, robotics, natural language processing, computer vision, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, are highlighted for their potential to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision-making within supply chains. The paper also examines the challenges associated with AI adoption, including technical difficulties, data privacy concerns, and ethical considerations. Through a critical analysis of current literature and case studies, this review identifies key research gaps and suggests future directions for the development and implementation of AI in SCM. The findings underscore the transformative potential of AI while emphasizing the need for responsible adoption to address technical, organizational, and ethical issues.

Abstract

This study examines the seasonal preference for winter weddings, analyzing cultural, economic, and environmental factors that influence this trend globally. Focusing on regions such as Bangladesh and India, where winter weddings are predominant, the research highlights how favorable climatic conditions, alignment with cultural and religious traditions, and economic advantages drive this preference. Winter offers mild weather, suitable for outdoor events, and coincides with holidays and post-harvest periods, facilitating extended celebrations and family gatherings. Additionally, reduced costs for venues and the availability of seasonal produce contribute to the practicality and appeal of winter weddings. Conversely, in regions with harsh winters, such as Northern Europe and North America, summer and autumn are preferred due to more accommodating weather for outdoor ceremonies and reduced logistical challenges. The study acknowledges the obstacles of winter weddings, including adverse weather, limited daylight, and holiday scheduling conflicts, which can complicate planning. Despite these challenges, winter weddings remain a favored choice in many regions, reflecting a confluence of cultural practices, environmental factors, and economic considerations. This research underscores the intricate relationship between seasonal preferences, local traditions, and practical constraints in shaping global marriage patterns.

Abstract

The integration of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) has the potential to transform airline ticketing and travel distribution by combining structured fare management with real-time pricing and enhanced flexibility. Traditional GDS platforms, such as Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport, provide comprehensive access to full-service carriers (FSCs), corporate travel support, and multi-city itinerary management, but they are limited by high transaction costs, rigid booking structures, and slower fare updates. APIs, on the other hand, offer direct airline connectivity, real-time pricing, and enhanced customization, but they lack structured fare agreements and full access to FSCs. This paper explores whether a hybrid GDS-API model can address these limitations by offering cost efficiency, dynamic pricing, and broader airline coverage while integrating AI-driven automation. This study employs a systematic review, comparative analysis, and case study evaluation, focusing on platforms like Kiwi.com, eDreams ODIGEO, Traveloka, and Mystifly to assess how hybrid GDS-API integration improves pricing accuracy, ancillary service management, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the paper examines the challenges of implementation, including integration complexity, regulatory constraints, cybersecurity risks, and the initial investment required for API and AI infrastructure. Finally, future advancements in predictive analytics, blockchain-based ticketing, voice-enabled search, and New Distribution Capability (NDC) standards are discussed to determine their role in further enhancing hybrid travel platforms. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, benefits, and potential limitations of the hybrid model, providing insights into whether it can serve as a sustainable and scalable solution for modern airline distribution.

Abstract

This study investigates the accessibility, gender disparities, and preferences related to extracurricular activities (ECAs) among students in Bangladesh. Utilizing a survey conducted with middle school, high school, and undergraduate students, we explore the challenges faced by urban versus rural students, the specific barriers encountered by female students, and the preferences for online versus offline ECAs. The results reveal significant disparities, with rural students and female participants facing considerable obstacles in accessing ECA opportunities. A strong preference for online ECAs is evident, although awareness of existing platforms facilitating ECA opportunities is limited. The findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to improve ECA accessibility, promote gender equality, and enhance the visibility of ECA resources. This study provides actionable recommendations to foster a more inclusive environment for ECA participation, ultimately contributing to the holistic development of students across Bangladesh.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the level of awareness and understanding of mental health among a purposefully selected sample of Bangladeshi high school students. We hypothesize that the population of Bangladeshi high school students has insufficient knowledge and comprehension about mental health, and this is a major reason behind the high burden of mental health problems in this group. In addition,  parents are not aware of this topic and pay less attention to their children's mental health, and this shortage, coupled with the stigma, may further exacerbate the situation and less help-seeking behavior amongst students. The data was gathered through an online survey. Findings indicated a demand for greater attention to mental health education in high schools, to overcome cultural barriers and stereotypes to mental health concerns, and to emphasize parent education in mental health. Moreover, the research showed that a significant number of parents are not informed regarding mental health issues, and that could make the parents more vulnerable to their children's mental well-being. This work offers useful information regarding the present level of mental health awareness among Bangladeshi high school students and serves as an indication that research in this area will continue to be needed. Results hold promise for the design of culturally appropriate mental health interventions, designed to help increase mental health and reduce stigma within this community.
