Abstract

Islamic philosophy continues to face complex challenges of modernity, ranging from epistemological transformations due to the digital era to ontological shifts in understanding contemporary realities. This study explores how Islamic philosophy adapts to various modern issues, such as globalization, science, and secularization, while maintaining its normative essence. The research employs a library study method with a hermeneutic-philosophical approach to analyze the reconstruction of Islamic thought in response to contemporary challenges. The findings indicate that Islamic philosophy remains relevant through an integrative approach between tradition and innovation. The recontextualization of epistemological, ontological, and ethical concepts enables Islamic philosophy to address modern issues with a solution-oriented and forward-looking perspective. Thus, Islamic philosophy not only preserves its intellectual heritage but also contributes to the global discourse on ethics, humanity, and science.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning and essence of freedom in Islam, focusing on its relevance in the context of modern life. Through a qualitative approach based on literature review, this research analyzes various dimensions of freedom in Islam, including spiritual, socio-political, economic, and intellectual aspects. The findings indicate that the concept of freedom in Islam possesses unique characteristics that distinguish it from secular notions of freedom, where freedom is understood as a right inherently linked to spiritual and social responsibilities. The study also reveals that the implementation of Islamic values of freedom in the modern era requires an adaptive and contextual approach, while still adhering to the fundamental principles of the religion. These findings provide a significant contribution to the development of a framework of understanding that can assist Muslim communities in appropriately implementing the concept of freedom in contemporary times.

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECE) from an Islamic perspective has a strong foundation in the Quran and Hadith. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of ECE in these two primary sources of Islamic teachings and its implications for contemporary educational practices. Using a literature review method with a qualitative approach, this research analyzes Quranic verses, Hadith, and related literature to identify the fundamental principles of early childhood education in Islam. The findings reveal that the concept of ECE in the Quran and Hadith is built upon three main pillars: tawhid (monotheism), akhlaq (morality), and ilm (knowledge), with educational methodologies including uswah (modeling), tadarruj (gradualism), hiwar (dialogue), qishshah (storytelling), and mumārasah (practice). The implementation of this concept in modern ECE settings shows significant improvements in spiritual-moral development (72%), socio-emotional development (67%), and language development (56%). These findings confirm the relevance and effectiveness of a Quran and Hadith-based approach in developing contemporary ECE programs.
