Abstract

This research is oriented to the management of Islamic boarding schools in improving students' literacy skills by reviewing the managerial process applied through 4 approaches, among others: planning (planning), organizing (organizing), actualizing (actuating), and evaluating (evaluating). The methodological knife used is qualitative with the research setting in the Miftahul Ulum Putra Islamic Boarding School, Gondanglegi, Malang. The technique of inputting data and information needed is done by interviewing the stakeholders concerned and accessing documents related to the object. This research was then compiled to critically and deeply analyze the Miftahul Ulum boarding school's management process in improving the students' literacy quality. Based on the research project that has been carried out, several results were found; first, the planning stage was carried out by offering several work programs aimed at improving the students' literacy skills. In the organizing stage, then from each work program that has been planned, a structure is formed based on the divisions that handle their respective fields. Furthermore, in the actualization stage, several existing activities have been carried out consistently, with a time allocation scheduled systematically and integrated with other boarding school activities. Meanwhile, for the evaluation, several obstacles were found, such as the division of the team through the existing divisions, each of which was very limited, the lack of active participants in participating in the planned series of activities, as well as problems in the internal management in the form of inactivity and maximization of the management concerned in carrying out their duties.

Abstract

The integration of Islam and science in pesantren education is now developing with a transdisciplinary approach using digital technology, such as digital libraries and management systems, to support its practical implementation. This study aims to describe the integration pattern between Islam and science and identify its implementation at Al-Khoirot Islamic Boarding School in Malang. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through literature review, participatory observation, in-depth interviews with pesantren administrators, staff, and students, and document analysis, then analysed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the integration of Islam and science at Al-Khoirot pesantren has been successfully applied in several specific areas. This integration is reflected in three main sectors: mapping multidisciplinary educational institutions combining religious studies with science, developing religious literature through an integrated digital library, and utilising digital technology platforms to market products created by students and alumni. However, challenges arise during implementation, including limited human resources, difficulties designing an Islam-science integration curriculum, and technical and infrastructure problems. Conclusion: Implementing Islam and science integration through the digital library faces challenges related to methodology, infrastructure, and digital literacy, thus requiring intensive guidance and a strong curriculum to overcome them.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Rifa'i 2 in internalizing digital literacy competencies. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study aims to analyze the pesantren's strategies in integrating digital literacy into the curriculum and culture, as well as identifying the challenges faced. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model and triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the boarding school has integrated digital literacy into its vision, programs (“Media Al-Rifa'i” for the creation of Islamic content), and curriculum (ICT, digital Project Based Learning). There has been a shift in teaching methods from conventional to the use of digital media. The central role of teachers as facilitators and supervisors of digital ethics is supported by external assistance. The main challenge is maintaining a balance between the values of the pesantren and the digital world. The pesantren plans to incorporate digital literacy into its long-term curriculum, preparing students for the digital age without compromising moral values. It is hoped that this research can serve as a reference and encourage further research on the adaptation of Islamic educational institutions to the digital age.

Abstract

Inclusive education in Indonesia has gained increasing attention, yet the integration of Islamic education principles into its management remains underexplored. Despite strong legal foundations, including Law Number 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Law Number 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities, the practical implementation of inclusive education faces significant challenges. The research gap lies in the limited understanding of how Islamic ethical and educational values can be incorporated to enhance equity, accessibility, and quality in inclusive education. This study aims to analyze inclusive education management models in Indonesia from an Islamic education perspective and to provide insights for more holistic implementation. The methodology employs qualitative content analysis through in-depth library research, comprising two phases: decontextualization, in which primary and secondary sources are collected and coded, and recontextualization, in which codes are grouped into subthemes and broader categories. Findings indicate strong normative alignment between inclusive education policies and Islamic teachings, which emphasize equality, non-discrimination, and the philosophical obligation to educate. However, gaps persist due to limited awareness and understanding among educators and communities. The study highlights the need for curriculum and learning practices that are accommodating and value-driven, offering implications for policymakers, practitioners, and educational institutions in developing sustainable, equitable, and ethically grounded inclusive education.
