Abstract

Disaster mitigation is an essential component of disaster management in Indonesia, aiming to minimize the negative impact of disasters on society and the environment. This article analyzes the role of Rescue Colomadu Bersatu (RCB), a volunteer organization in Karanganyar Regency, in supporting disaster mitigation efforts. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study explores the role of RCB as a regulator, dynamizer, facilitator, and catalyst in mitigation activities. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that RCB has succeeded in building community capacity, establishing synergies with various stakeholders, and facilitating training and disaster simulations. RCB's contribution reflects the importance of collaboration between the government and community organizations in creating effective disaster preparedness.
