Abstract

This research aims to test and explain the relationship between the intensity of social media use and body distatisfaction. The respondents in this research were 110 students including women and men in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Sampling was carried out using Incidental Sampling and Snowball Sampling techniques. The instruments used were the multiple body-self related questionnaire appearance scales (MBSRQ-AS) and the intensity scale of social media use. The data analysis technique used is Pearson product moment correlation. The results of data analysis obtained a value of r = 0.423 with p = 0.001 (p < 0.01) indicating that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of social media use and body dissatisfaction. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be seen that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of social media use and body dissatisfaction among students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Therefore, unproductive use of social media should be avoided to avoid body statisfaction and increase student productivity as agents of future change.

Abstract

Technological developments are so rapid, one of the effects of technological and internet advances is online gambling which can cause addiction and difficulty in self-control, thus triggering stress as a reaction to the imbalance between individual demands and abilities. This study aims to determine the picture of stress in online gambling students. The research participants were 2 students involved in playing online gambling. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, which aims to understand the subjective experiences of students who experience stress due to their involvement in online gambling. The results of the study showed that online gambling students experienced stress that had physical impacts such as insomnia and fatigue, as well as psychological ones such as anxiety, despair, and withdrawal from the social environment. This stress also interferes with their mental well-being and academic activities.

Abstract

Learning achievement is the result of learning obtained by students while carrying out school learning. The purpose of this study is to determine how much influence parenting patterns have on their children's learning achievement. This study uses quantitative methods with spearman rank analysis. Respondents in this study were 93 students in class VII and class VIII MTs. Assulamiy Langko. The results of the study are a positive relationship with a significance value of 0.036, meaning that the better the parenting style given by parents, the higher the learning achievement obtained by students.

Abstract

                Students face various challengers when writing their theses, such as difficulty in meeting with their supervisors, finding literature books, and a lack of knowledge about research as well as difficulties in data analysis. Additionally, students often feel stressed during the thesis process, including the difficulty of determining the right theory, finding an appropriate title, and managing numerous revisions. With low emotional intelligence in facing the challenges of thesis writing and the lack of social support, students may struggle to cope with these issues. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between social support and emotional intelligence among students who are writing their theses at X University of Yogyakarta. The variables of social support and emotional intelligence were measured using a scale. The sample of this study consisted of 97 students at X University of Yogyakarta who were in the thesis writing stage. The data analysis test used in this research employed the Spearman Test method using Windows SPSS version 25. Based on the analysis of 97 students at X University of Yogyakarta revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.265 between social support and emotional intelligence, with a significant value of ρ = 0.009 (ρ < 0.05). Therefore, the research results indicate a significant relationship between social support and emotional intelligence. Students who receive higher social support tend to have better emotional intelligence, which positively affects their ability to manage stress and challenges during the thesis writing process.

Abstract

A person is considered as a university student when they enter a college or university. The hardest phase of being a university student is when they enter their final semester because they start working on their final assignments. As final year students in college, they certainly have pressure. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of social support and religious beliefs of final year students on their psychological well-being. This study employed a quantitative approach with an emphasis on correlation through the distribution of questionnaires. The sample population of this study consisted of final year students, who were usually between 20 and 24 years old. A total of 120 participants were selected for the survey through the nonprobability sampling method. When analyzing the data, the assumption test was used. In this study, the variables of social support, religiosity, and psychological well-being were tested for their hypotheses. The results of the study showed a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. The r square value of psychological well-being gave an effective contribution of 61.55%, and the r square value of psychological well-being gave an effective contribution of 9.55% when combined with social support indicated a strong relationship, which means that there is a relationship between social support and psychological well-being in final year students, but there is no relationship between religiosity and psychological well-being in final year students.

Abstract

Fanatisme yang berlebihan membuat penggemar manga One Piece ingin membeli merchandise One Piece berapapun harganya hanya untuk mencari kesenangan. Fenomena tersebut biasanya disebut dengan perilaku konsumtif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara fanatisme dengan perilaku konsumtif pada penggemar manga One Piece. Subjek penelitian ini adalah penggemar manga One Piece dengan jumlah subjek 100 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode teknik purposive sampling, dengan instrumen skala fanatisme dan skala perilaku konsumtif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan r = 0,590 dengan nilai p = 0,000 (p<0,01) menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara fanatisme dengan perilaku konsumtif pada penggemar manga One Piece. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi fanatisme penggemar manga One Piece maka semakin tinggi juga perilaku konsumtif pada penggemar manga One Piece

Abstract

This study aims to identify differences in organizational interests between Psychology and Communication Science students at Universitas 'Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. With a quantitative approach and comparative design, data were obtained through a questionnaire involving 184 students from both study programs. The results of the analysis using the Mann-Whitney test showed that Communication Science students had a higher interest in organizing than Psychology students. This difference is thought to be influenced by internal and external factors, such as the need to expand social networks and develop communication skills in Communication Science students. These findings are expected to be a reference for institutions in designing more appropriate organizational development programs for students from various study programs, according to their respective needs and interests.
