Abstract

The wound healing duration in Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients is influenced by factors such as age, nutritional status, blood sugar levels, diet adherence, physical activity, and medication compliance. In diabetic foot ulcer cases, healing is often impaired, increasing the risk of amputation if not properly managed. This study investigates factors affecting wound healing duration in DM patients at Hanifah Pratama Clinic, Tangerang City. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used, with a sample of 40 DM patients with diabetic foot ulcers selected through total sampling. Instruments included weight scales and height meters for nutritional status, Easy Touch® GCU for blood glucose levels, the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS) for medication compliance, and the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT) for wound assessment. Data analysis utilized the Chi-Square bivariate test and backward logistic regression multivariate test. Results showed that nutritional status significantly influenced wound healing duration (p < 0.05), with an OR of 28.884 (95% CI 2.760-302.240), indicating that patients with good nutritional status are 28.884 times more likely to heal faster. In conclusion, nutritional status is the dominant factor affecting wound healing duration in DM patients at Hanifah Pratama Clinic. This study highlights the importance of improving treatment quality and wound care while encouraging better nutritional interventions in diabetic foot ulcer management.

Abstract

Glaucoma requires lifelong treatment and has a high risk of causing blindness. Therefore, patient compliance is very important, including regular monitoring of intraocular pressure and use of medications as directed. Non-compliance can worsen the condition and increase medical costs. Objectives: This is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of glaucoma patients and the level of compliance in using drugs to control intraocular pressure at the Nusantara Eye Clinic, Jakarta in 2024. Methods: is a quantitative study with a Cross Sectional approach. The research sample was 58 patients using purposive sampling technique. The anxiety measurement instrument used a questionnaire on the level of knowledge and compliance with drug use. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test and presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. Results: howed high knowledge (94.4%) and the variable level of drug compliance in the moderate category (50%). Based on statistical tests using the Spearman Rank correlation test, a significance level of p-value = 0.000 was obtained, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of glaucoma patients and the level of drug compliance in controlling intraocular pressure at the Nusantara Eye Clinic, Jakarta in 2024. The correlation coefficient in this study has a value of 0.448, which means that the relationship between these two variables is very strong and inversely related. Conclusion, There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of glaucoma patients and the level of compliance with the use of drugs in controlling intraocular pressure at the Nusantara Eye Clinic, Jakarta in 2024. Researchers are advised to develop further research by analyzing factors that influence compliance with treatment in glaucoma patients such as attitudes, motivation, perceptions, and beliefs.

Abstract

Anxiety in pre-operative major surgery patients is a common occurrence and can affect the post-operative healing process. Family support plays an im- portant role in reducing this anxiety, as it provides a sense of security and comfort. This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in pre-operative major surgery patients at RS Bhakti Asih, Tangerang City. This research uses a quantitative design with a correlational approach and a cross- sectional study design. The sample consists of 78 patients undergoing major sur- gery at RSU Bhakti Asih who met the inclusion criteria, selected using nonproba- bility sampling with a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using two instruments: a family support questionnaire and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents received high family support, with 31 respondents (39.7%), and the most dominant anxiety level among patients was categorized as normal/not anxious, with 23 respondents (29.5%). The Chi-Square test analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that the study demonstrates a significant relationship between family support and anxiety levels in pre-opera- tive patients.
