Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of education in the Japanese Language Diploma Program (D3) at Universitas Widyatama, evaluate the program's brand image, and analyze the impact of both quality of education and brand image on prospective students' intention to enroll in the program. The research employs a descriptive-analytical and verificative approach. The descriptive aspect seeks to illustrate how the quality of education and brand image influence prospective students' interest in enrolling, while the verificative aspect examines the direct effect of education quality and brand image on the enrollment intentions of third-year high school (SMA/SMK) students. Data were collected through a survey with a sample of 100 respondents, comprising third-year high school/ vocational school students and alumni who had been exposed to promotional efforts by the UTama Marketing Bureau and the Japanese Language Program. The results of the F-test indicate that both education quality and brand image have a significant combined impact on prospective students' enrollment intentions for the D3 Japanese Language Program at Universitas Widyatama, with an R-Square coefficient of 0.281, or 28.1%. This means that education quality and brand image together explain 28.1% of the variability in students' intention to enroll, while the remaining 71.9% is influenced by other factors not covered in this study, such as social, economic, or personal preferences. The findings provide insight into the factors influencing prospective students' decisions to choose the D3 Japanese Language Program at Universitas Widyatama. Keywords: Brand image, Education Quality, Enrollment Intention.

Abstract

The digital technology revolution has brought a fundamental paradigm shift in the global financial services ecosystem, creating a digital transformation that integrates financial technology (fintech) as a key catalyst for expanding people's access to finance. Indonesia, the country with the largest digital economy in the ASEAN region, faces challenges as well as great opportunities in the implementation of digital transformation of the financial system, where the level of financial inclusion has reached 85.1%, but digital financial literacy has only reached 48%. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of digital transformation in the financial system through a systematic literature review that covers fintech developments and their impact on financial inclusion, identifies global and national trends, evaluates the effectiveness of fintech models, and develops a conceptual framework for the development of a sustainable fintech ecosystem. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on national and international journal articles for the period 2021-2025 from Google Scholar, with the inclusion criteria of reputable articles that are relevant to the digital transformation of the financial system and financial technology. The analysis shows that fintech has proven effective in increasing financial inclusion for unbankable and underbanked segments through digital lending, mobile banking, e-wallets, and Sharia fintech. Key success factors include adequate technological infrastructure, digital literacy, consumer trust, supportive regulation, and strategic collaboration. Key challenges include regulatory uncertainty, digital divides, cybersecurity, and financial system stability. Digital transformation of the financial system requires proportionate regulation, massive digital infrastructure investment, sustainable literacy programs, robust security frameworks, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to realize an inclusive and sustainable fintech ecosystem.

Abstract

The consignment-based marketing system through middlemen (known locally as tengkulak) has long been practiced by farmers in Nagrak District, particularly in Pawenang Village. This system offers certain advantages, such as lower costs, operational simplicity, no need for technological skills, and delegation of distribution responsibilities to middlemen. However, the dominance of middlemen in the agricultural marketing chain leads to a high level of farmer dependency. Middlemen control nearly the entire market, leaving farmers with little to no bargaining power when they sell the middlemen take 10% of the final selling price. Limited market access also prevents farmers from tracking price fluctuations, thus making them vulnerable to price manipulation. Moreover, farmers are charged with the distribution costs. This situation negatively affects farmers’ welfare, with most living under economic hardship, even though agriculture is their primary source of income. This study aims to analyze the impact of the consignment marketing system through middlemen on the economic sustainability of farmers in Pawenang Village. The findings are expected to provide insights into how this system affects farmer independence and offer alternative marketing solutions to reduce dependence on middlemen, thereby improving the competitiveness and sustainability of agricultural enterprises.

Abstract

Traditional SMEs based on local culture face significant challenges in adopting digital transformation, particularly in developing adaptive branding strategies in the digital economy era. This research addresses the urgency of bridging the digital literacy gap and cultural understanding in the marketing strategies of Betawi dodol SMEs in Bekasi Regency. The primary objective of this study is to analyse how local entrepreneurs understand, adopt, and implement digital branding within the social and cultural context of Betawi. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study, utilising semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and visual documentation of Betawi dodol entrepreneurs in Ceger. The research findings indicate that the digital transformation of these SMEs remains sporadic, has not been structured as a comprehensive branding strategy, and relies more on social relationships and product quality. Brand identity is built organically through consumption experiences and local cultural values. The implications of this research highlight the importance of community-based mentoring and strengthening digital branding literacy rooted in local wisdom as a strategy for sustainable SME empowerment.
