Abstract

Accurate human detection in video streams with occlusions, illumination variances, and varying distances is crucial for various applications, including surveillance, human-computer interaction, and robotics. This study investigates the performance of two widely used object detection features, Haar-like and Local Binary Pattern (LBP), for detecting human upper bodies in color and depth images. The algorithms are combined with Adaptive Boosting Cascade classifiers to leverage the discriminative power of Haar-like features and LBP texture features. Extensive experiments were conducted on a dataset comprising color images and depth data captured from a Kinect camera to evaluate the algorithms' performance in terms of precision, recall, accuracy, F1-score, and computational efficiency measured in frames per second (fps). The results indicate that when tested on color images, the Haar-Cascade method outperforms LBP-Cascade, achieving higher precision (27.4% vs. 7.8%), recall (49.2% vs. 7.8%), accuracy (21.4% vs. 4.1%), and F1-score (35.2% vs. 7.8%), while maintaining a comparable computational speed (19.07 fps vs. 19.26 fps). However, when applied to depth data, the Haar-Cascade method, coupled with Kalman filtering, demonstrates significantly improved performance, achieving precision (79.3%), recall (79.3%), accuracy (65.8%), and F1-score (79.3%) above 70%, with a computational time of approximately 19.07 fps. The integration of Kalman filtering enhances the robustness and tracking capabilities of the system, making it a promising approach for real-world applications in human detection and monitoring. The findings suggest that depth information provides valuable cues for accurate human detection, enabling the Haar-Cascade algorithm to overcome challenges faced in color image analysis. information provides valuable cues for accurate human detection, enabling the Haar-Cascade algorithm to overcome challenges faced in color image analysis.

Abstract

Research aims: This study aims to analyze the validity of sale and purchase contracts using Shopee PayLater as a financial technology instrument from the perspective of Islamic law. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research employs a normative juridical approach with a statute-based method. Data were collected from primary legal materials such as fatwas, laws, and regulations, as well as secondary and tertiary legal sources. The study is descriptive in nature. Research findings: The findings reveal that Shopee PayLater does not meet the requirements set by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) as outlined in Fatwa No. 116/DSN-MUI/IX/2017 concerning Sharia Electronic Money. The feature contains ribawi elements through the imposition of interest (minimum 2.95% per month), a handling fee (1% of the transaction), and a late payment penalty (5% of the total amount), which contradict Islamic principles of fairness and transparency in transactions. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the intersection of Islamic legal norms and modern financial technology, especially regarding the legal status of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) systems in Indonesia. Practitioners/Policy Implications: The findings may serve as a reference for fintech companies, policymakers, and regulators in developing sharia-compliant digital financial products, and encourage re-evaluation of existing BNPL schemes to align with Islamic economic principles. Research Limitations/Implications: This study is limited to the legal analysis based on Indonesian regulations and DSN-MUI fatwas, and does not explore user perspectives or comparative international frameworks. Future research is recommended to include broader empirical and cross-jurisdictional insights.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of Non-Performing Finance (NPF) in moderating the relationship between Third Party Funds, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) to Return on Assets (ROA) at Commercial Banks Sharia in Indonesia for the 2016-2021 period. This research is a type of quantitative research with a correlational approach. By using purposive sampling technique, 8 Commercial Banks Sharia were obtained as research samples. The data analysis technique used to answer the hypothesis in this study uses Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of the study concluded that partially Third-Party Funds had no effect on ROA, while the CAR and FDR variables partially had an effect on ROA at Islamic Commercial Banks for the 2016-2021 period. Furthermore, when there is the addition of NPF as a moderating variable, the research findings state that NPF is not able to moderate the effect of Third-Party Funds on ROA. Meanwhile, on the other hand, NPF is able to moderate the influence of CAR and FDR on ROA of Islamic Commercial Banks for the 2016-2021 period.

Abstract

In recent years, sharia cooperatives have become attractive business entities, providing an alternative that complies with sharia principles for communities that prioritize Islamic financial values. Pekalongan Regency, as a region that continues to experience economic dynamics, has experienced significant growth in sharia cooperatives. This research aims to explore the complex relationship between the existence of sharia cooperatives in Pekalongan Regency and the regulations that guide their operations. The method used in this research is normative juridical research methods. This research method emphasizes the law as a system of norms. The existence of sharia cooperatives in Pekalongan Regency has experienced quite rapid development. This cannot be separated from various factors, namely internal factors and external factors. It is hoped that the successful existence of sharia cooperatives in Pekalongan Regency can be a motivation for other sharia cooperatives to continue to develop and make a greater contribution to the community's economy.
