Abstract

Islamic education will stagnate if its human resources are unable to answer the challenges of the times through innovation and scientific renewal. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of human resources in Islamic boarding schools needs to be a sustainable and systematic strategic agenda. Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that have a strategic role in shaping character, leadership, and strengthening Islamic values. However, in facing the challenges of globalization, Islamic boarding schools are required to improve their institutional management capacity, especially in terms of human resources (HR) and finance. This study aims to explore strategies for strengthening HR management and optimizing the management of productive waqf at Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah 2 Lumut Islamic Boarding School through a participatory approach in the form of a forum group discussion (FGD). The results of the thematic analysis showed three main findings: the need for managerial training based on Islamic boarding school values, the importance of professionalizing waqf asset management, and the urgency of technology integration in financial governance. This activity also shows that the participatory approach is effective in building collective awareness and commitment to contextual and sustainable institutional transformation.

Abstract

The concept of Islamic Worldview is an important discourse in the study of contemporary Islamic philosophy because it functions as an epistemological and ontological framework in understanding the reality of life. In the midst of globalization and the dominance of the secularism paradigm that tends to separate religion from social, economic, and political life, understanding the Islamic worldview is becoming increasingly relevant. The Islamic Worldview offers an integrative perspective that places revelation as the primary source of knowledge and makes monotheism a fundamental principle in all aspects of human life. This research aims to analyze the concept of Islamic Worldview according to Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi and explain its relevance in facing the challenges of the contemporary world, especially in the aspects of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were obtained from the works of Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas as well as relevant academic journal literature. The analysis was carried out through a content analysis method with a historical and sociological approach to understand the development of the concept of Islamic Worldview in the Islamic intellectual tradition. The results of the study show that the Islamic Worldview, according to Zarkasyi, is a holistic paradigm of life based on monotheism. This paradigm rejects the dichotomy between religion and world life and emphasizes the integration of revelation, reason, and social reality in the Islamic knowledge system. This concept is relevant as the basis for the development of a paradigm of science, education, and social life based on the values of monotheism in facing the challenges of modernity and globalization.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions have an important role in the process of transmission, development, and preservation of science throughout the history of Islamic civilization. This article aims to examine the development of Islamic educational institutions and their contribution to the advancement of science from classical to modern times. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, by analyzing various relevant literature sources related to the history of Islamic education. The results of the study show that Islamic educational institutions such as kuttab, halaqah, madrasah, and pesantren have a strategic role in forming a systematic scientific tradition, both in the fields of religious science and rational science. In classical times, these institutions became centers for the development of various disciplines, such as philosophy, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy. Along with the times, Islamic educational institutions have undergone transformations in systems, curricula, and learning methods to adapt to the needs of society and the development of science. Thus, the history of Islamic educational institutions shows that these educational institutions not only function as a means of religious education, but also contribute significantly to the development of science and human civilization.
