General elections are an implementation of democracy in Indonesia, namely that sovereignty is in the hands of the people, which is carried out according to the Law. In 2024, general elections will be held simultaneously, namely the election of the president-vice president, members of the DPR, members of the DPD and members of the Provincial and Regency/City DPRD. This study aims to describe the implementation of democracy in general elections and to describe the implementation of simultaneous general elections held in 2024. This research is an empirical legal research with a sociological legal approach. The results of this study indicate that the general elections held in Indonesia are one form of the implementation of democracy, namely that the people have the power to choose candidate leaders who will lead for the next 5 years, both legislative members and president and vice president. The implementation of the 2024 simultaneous general elections went very well because they were well prepared, as evidenced by the high public participation in the election of legislative members of 81.14% and the election of president and vice president of 81.48%. Although there are still several shortcomings in the implementation, both technical and regulatory, however, judging from the level of participation, the 2024 Simultaneous General Elections are categorized as a success.
