Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) understanding of literacy for students of economic education study program Batanghari Jambi, (2) consumptive behavior for students of economic education study program Batanghari Jambi University, (3) the effect of understanding economic literacy on consumptive behavior for students of economic education study program Batanghari Jambi University. . This type of research is survey research, which consists of one independent variable and one dependent variable. The total population in this study was 56 people. The sampling technique in this study is proportional-startified random sampling. Data collection techniques in this study are by observation, distributing questionnaires to research respondents and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study is simple regression with the SPSS 16 program. The results of this study indicate that: (1) understanding of economic literacy for students of economic education study program is quite good, which can be seen from the average TCR of 73.00%, (2 ) consumptive behavior for students of economic education study program is said to be quite good, namely obtaining a TCR result of 78.21%, (3) the effect of understanding economic literacy on consumptive behavior for students of economic education study program states that there is no influence between understanding economic literacy on consumptive behavior, it is known that the value of tcount < ttable or 0.157 < 2.004. The correlation coefficient value is 0.021%. That is, there is no influence between the variable understanding of economic literacy on consumptive behavior for students of the economic education study program at Batanghari University, Jambi. Keywords: Understanding of Economic Literacy, Consumptive Behavior
