Abstract

This study explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning, can be leveraged to analyze public discourse on climate change and improve climate communication strategies. Focusing on four key questions, the research examines how AI classifies public sentiment, identifies dominant topics, detects framing structures, and generates actionable insights to inform targeted communication. Over one million climate-related posts were collected from Twitter and Facebook between January and June 2024. Sentiment analysis using a fine-tuned BERT model categorized posts into positive, negative, and neutral sentiments, while Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) revealed key topics. Framing analysis employed supervised machine learning to classify posts into narrative frames, and AI-powered visualization tools were used for interpretation. The results indicate a polarized sentiment distribution: 45% negative, 35% positive, and 20% neutral. Negative posts centered on skepticism and political inaction, while positive posts supported renewable energy and activism. Thematic analysis highlighted five key topics: scientific evidence, activism, economic implications, political debate, and environmental justice. Framing analysis revealed four dominant frames—climate urgency, economic impact, political action, and environmental justice—that shape public perception. Temporal sentiment shifts aligned with major events, suggesting public discourse is responsive to political and activist developments. This research demonstrates the potential of AI to provide scalable, data-driven insights into public climate discourse. By integrating these insights into strategic planning, communicators can design more effective, emotionally resonant messages, enhancing public engagement and supporting collective climate action.

Abstract

This research examines how Arabic and French historical and contemporary dominance influences intergenerational communication practices in Amazigh in rural Moroccan communities. The Amazigh language, historically the main marker of the Berber community's collective identity, now faces structural and symbolic pressures from state linguistic policies and social representations that privilege the dominant language. This research uses a literature-based qualitative approach with thematic analysis methods on policy documents, legal products, and institutional and media discourse related to the position of the Amazigh language. The analysis results show that the dominance of Arabic and French impacts not only institutional domains such as education, bureaucracy and the media, but also weakens intergenerational linguistic transmission and creates identity distortions among the younger generation of Amazighs. The Amazigh language is slowly being shifted from its public communicative and cultural symbolic function, becoming a domestic language that lacks legitimacy in the national social system. The absence of substantive policy implementation exacerbates this process of marginalization despite constitutional recognition since 2011. In conclusion, linguistic dominance in Morocco's postcolonial context has created communication disruption and an identity crisis within the Amazigh community. Therefore, revitalizing the Amazigh language requires a legal-formal, community-based, and intergenerational approach. This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for a more inclusive language policy, strengthening postcolonial sociolinguistic discourse in the Maghreb region.

Abstract

Dakwah merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi di lingkup pesantren. Salah satunya adalah tentang perilaku menjaga kebersihan. Dalam bidang kesehatan, perilaku ini berkaitan dengan personal hygiene dan konsep social cognitive theory. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dakwah terhadap perilaku kesehatan personal hygiene santriwati Pondok Pesantren Sunan Pandanaran Tulungagung berdasarkan konsep social cognitive theory. Penelitian ini memakai jenis penelitian kuantitatif observasional analitik dalam mengetahui pengaruh antara variabel dependen dan independen. Dalam mengambil sampel, penelitian ini memakai metode simple random sampling dengan jumlah yang diambil adalah 226 dari 519 santri. Untuk menguji data, penelitian ini menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat melalui path analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku personal hygiene terhadap mayoritas responden dikategorikan baik dengan nilai sebesar 78,8%. Hasil uji path analysis antara variabel X dan Y membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara dakwah dengan pengetahuan personal hygiene dengan nilai sig 0,00 < 0,05 dengan nilai R2, yaitu 0,209 sehingga pengaruh yang diberikan sebesar 20,9%. Adapun analisis pengaruh dakwah pada variabel social cognitive theory lainnya memperoleh hasil yang tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Pengaruh dakwah pada perilaku personal hygiene memberikan pengaruh signifikan secara tidak langsung sebesar 0,471 atau 47,1%Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dakwah terhadap perilaku personal hygiene. Selain itu, penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi peneliti lain yang hendak melakukan penelitian serupa terkait faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi perilaku personal hygiene santriwati di pondok pesantren.
