Abstract

This research discusses the relevance of Qur'anic tafsir to contemporary social issues in Indonesia with a qualitative approach based on literature study. The main focus is the exploration of thematic-contextual approach, integration of pluralism values, and collaboration with social sciences and humanities. The thematic-contextual approach allows the mufasir to bridge the eternal values of the Qur'an with modern social reality, providing practical solutions to the challenges of social justice, education, and humanitarian solidarity. In the context of pluralism, tafsir plays a strategic role in promoting tolerance, social harmony and preventing extremism, essential for Indonesia's multicultural society. The integration of modern theories, such as social justice and human rights, enriches the dimension of tafsir in addressing social and economic inequality. This research confirms that Qur'anic tafsir is not only a spiritual guide but also a strategic tool to create a more just and inclusive society, despite the challenges of conservatism and low literacy. Penelitian ini membahas relevansi tafsir Al-Qur'an terhadap isu-isu sosial kontemporer di Indonesia dengan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi literatur. Fokus utama adalah eksplorasi pendekatan tematik-kontekstual, integrasi nilai pluralisme, dan kolaborasi dengan ilmu sosial serta humaniora. Pendekatan tematik-kontekstual memungkinkan mufasir menjembatani nilai-nilai abadi Al-Qur'an dengan realitas sosial modern, memberikan solusi praktis untuk tantangan keadilan sosial, pendidikan, dan solidaritas kemanusiaan. Dalam konteks pluralisme, tafsir berperan strategis dalam mempromosikan toleransi, harmoni sosial, dan mencegah ekstremisme, penting bagi masyarakat multikultural Indonesia. Integrasi teori modern, seperti keadilan sosial dan hak asasi manusia, memperkaya dimensi tafsir dalam mengatasi ketimpangan sosial dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa tafsir Al-Qur'an bukan hanya panduan spiritual tetapi juga alat strategis untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih adil dan inklusif, meski tetap menghadapi tantangan konservatisme dan literasi yang rendah.

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of studying asbabul wurud in understanding the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW contextually. The main focus of this research is on the hadith that states that children resulting from adultery are assigned to their mothers, not to the man who committed adultery. This hadith is often debated, especially in the realm of Islamic family law and the protection of children's rights. Using a qualitative approach and literature study methods, this research analyzes the social, cultural, and historical context behind the birth of this hadith. The results of the study show that determining a mother's lineage is not just a legal provision but also a form of protection for the dignity and rights of children born from relationships outside of legal marriage. Through the understanding of asbabul wurud, this hadith is understood as a form of solution to social problems during the time of the Prophet, as well as containing universal values of justice and benefit. This research confirms that a contextual approach to hadith is very important to prevent errors in the interpretation and application of Islamic law. Thus, asbabul wurud becomes an important instrument in maintaining the relevance of Islamic teachings amidst social changes in modern society.
