Abstract

Stunting remains a significant nutritional concern for the Indonesian government due to its impact on human resource quality. The Puskesmas (Community Health Centre) in Duren Sawit Subdistrict has experienced an increase in the proportion of stunting cases, rising from 9.06% to 10.5% over the last three months. Objective: This study aims to identify family factors associated with stunting in children aged 12-59 months in the Puskesmas of Duren Sawit Subdistrict for 2023. This research adopts a case-control study design with 41 cases and 41 controls. Cases were identified based on a compilation of data on stunted children at the health center, while controls were children without a stunting diagnosis. Sampling was conducted using the simple random sampling method. Data collection involved direct interviews with the mothers of the children and a review of medical documents. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test. Family income with less than minimum wage has the highest PR value compared to other variables, namely 9.68 (95% CI 2.48- 37.78), so it can be concluded that family income with less than minimum wage is the variable that most influences stunting. The recommendation in this study is that cooperation between the Duren Sawit Subdistrict Health Center and the local government, involving community leaders and an interactive approach, is necessary to provide education on nutrition and family financial management for the effectiveness of stunting prevention.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: DBD, PHBS, PSN, Kader Kesehatan  ABSTRACT Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a major public health issue in Indonesia. The incidence of DHF has significantly increased in the working area of Puskesmas Jati Pulo II, from 4 cases (2023) to 14 cases (2024). Densely populated environments and a lack of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) are the main risk factors. This community service program aimed to increase knowledge of health cadres in the Puskesmas Jatipulo II area about DHF prevention through education on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN). The method used was counseling with pre-test and post-test approaches involving 20 participants. There was a significant increase in knowledge post-intervention. Direct education on DHF effectively improved cadre understanding and is expected to reduce DHF incidence. Keywords: DHF, PHBS, PSN, Health Cadres

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death worldwide, and survival in sudden cardiac events largely depends on timely pre-hospital response and the ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In the service area of Jatipulo II Primary Health Center, knowledge and preparedness among health cadres regarding heart attack management and CPR were reported to be limited. To assess cadres’ baseline knowledge prior to education, evaluate the effectiveness of heart attack and CPR education in improving knowledge, and identify the knowledge domains with the most pronounced improvement. This community service program employed a one-group pretest–posttest design through structured health education and discussion. The activity was conducted on 17 September 2024 in the service area of Jatipulo II Primary Health Center with 30 health cadres who completed the questionnaire. Evaluation compared correct response proportions across seven knowledge items before and after education, and descriptively assessed attitudes toward readiness, perceived CPR effectiveness, and perceived importance of education. All knowledge items improved after the intervention (from 13.3%–50% to 70%–93.3% correct responses). The largest improvement was observed in the item on the first step of adult CPR (13.3% → 83.3%), followed by recognition of heart attack symptoms (40.0% → 93.3%) and definition of heart attack (40.0% → 86.7%). However, the item addressing the first action when encountering a heart attack—although improved (50.0% → 70.0%)—remained comparatively lower than other indicators. Regarding attitudes, 50.0% of participants reported being ready/very ready to provide first aid, 50.0% were confident/very confident in CPR effectiveness, and 76.7% considered education important/very important. Heart attack and CPR education delivered to health cadres in the Jatipulo II Primary Health Center area was effective in consistently improving knowledge, with the greatest impact on early CPR steps. Further reinforcement is needed to enhance initial response decision-making and participants’ readiness/self-confidence through repeated training, scenario-based simulations, and routine community-level programs. Keywords: Heart Attack, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Health Education, Health Cadres, Pretest–Posttest.
