Abstract

As one of the major urban growth centers in Indonesia, the city of Medan faces significant environmental challenges, including rising temperatures, declining air quality, and limited green open spaces in residential areas. This study examines the influence of landscape vegetation on thermal comfort in Royal Sumatera Housing as part of efforts to realize energy-efficient buildings. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through observation and the measurement of temperature, humidity, and wind speed within the housing area. The analysis reveals that vegetation such as trees, shrubs, herbs, and bushes positively contributes to reducing temperature and improving thermal comfort, although humidity levels in some areas still exceed ideal standards. Cooler and more consistent wind speeds are also observed in areas with dense vegetation. These findings emphasize the importance of strategic landscape planning in creating thermally comfortable and energy-efficient environments in tropical residential areas.

Abstract

Sejak pandemi COVID-19 melanda seluruh dunia, Proses pembelajaran siswa dan mahasiswa telah berubah. Banyak sekolah dan universitas yang mengubah pembelajaran dari yang awalnya tatap mata menjadi online. Salah satu sumber daya yang diperlukan untuk melakukan pembelajaran secara online adalah E-Learning. Oleh karena itu, e-learning harus memiliki fitur yang baik dan berguna agar proses pembelajaran siswa dan mahasiswa dapat berjalan lancar. Saat ini, ada beberapa alat pembelajaran yang digunakan seperti moodle, edmodo, wordpress, dan lain-lain. Pada penelitian ini akan menggunakan moodle untuk mengembangkan website e-learning berdasarkan preferensi mahasiswa UIB dengan metode Research and Development. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah analisis fitur-fitur yang diperlukan dalam website e-learning agar proses pembelajaran online dapat berjalan lancar. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the entire world, the learning process for pupils and students has changed. Many schools and universities have changed learning from face-to-face to online. One of the resources needed to carry out online learning is E-Learning. Therefore, e-learning must have good and useful features so that the learning process for pupils and students can run smoothly. Currently, there are several learning tools used such as Moodle, Edmodo, WordPress, and others. In this research, we will use Moodle to develop an e-learning website based on UIB student preferences using the Research and Development method. The result of this research is an analysis of the features needed on an e-learning website so that the online learning process can run smoothly.

Abstract

Instagram Web can be accessed using a browser from a computer or laptop. Its function is the same as the Instagram application which was previously available on Android or IOS. The striking difference is the shape of the screen that displays content from Instagram users. This journal will discuss how the design of the user interface and user experience balances the Instagram web and is not disconnected from the design of the Instagram application on Android. The result of the research is that Instagram Web Design creates a design that follows the initial purpose of the Instagram mobile application design which is related to the principles of value, desirability, adoptability, and usability. That way the Instagram Web user experience can be aligned with the Instagram mobile user experience.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih adanya persepsi keliru di kalangan pelajar yang memandang tawuran sebagai bentuk solidaritas dan keberanian, padahal secara hukum merupakan perilaku kriminal anak dengan konsekuensi pidana serius. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMAS Mulia Medan dengan melibatkan 30 siswa, melalui pendekatan participatory legal education dengan metode penyuluhan interaktif, diskusi kelompok, studi kasus, serta evaluasi menggunakan pre-test dan post-test berupa 5 pertanyaan singkat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman hukum siswa sebesar 27%, disertai perubahan sikap yang signifikan terhadap penolakan tawuran serta meningkatnya kemampuan mengidentifikasi solusi konflik secara damai. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi hukum yang terstruktur dan partisipatif efektif pada aspek peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai konsekuensi pidana tawuran, perubahan persepsi terhadap tawuran yang semula dipandang sebagai solidaritas, dan penyelesaian konflik secara damai dilingkungan sekolah. Kata Kunci: Tawuran Pelajar, Konsekuensi Hukum, Edukasi Hukum Abstract: This community service activity was initiated due to the persistent misconception among students who perceive school brawls as symbols of solidarity and bravery, whereas legally they constitute juvenile criminal behavior with serious legal consequences. The program was conducted at SMAS Mulia Medan involving 30 students, using a participatory legal education approach through interactive legal counseling, group discussions, case studies, and evaluation employing pre-test and post-test instruments in the form of 5 short questions. The results demonstrated a 27% increase in students’ legal understanding, accompanied by significant attitudinal changes reflecting rejection of violent behavior and improved ability to identify peaceful conflict resolution strategies. This activity provesthat structured and participatory legal education is effective in enhancing students understanding of the criminal consequences of brawls, changing perceptions of brawls that were initially seen as solidarity, and peacefully resolving conflicts within the school environment.
