Abstract

Abstract

The initial round of observations and the Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) have shown that members of the SMA Negeri 4 Batam futsal team have a low level of anaerobic endurance. Most players fall into the moderate category, which means their ability to keep up the intensity of performance in the second half of the games is compromised. Futsal, being a high-intensity intermittent sport, depends a lot on the anaerobic energy system, so without a good training method, it is quite a challenge to raise the players' anaerobic capacity. On the other hand, this study was developed to find out whether interval training works in boosting anaerobic endurance of the SMA Negeri 4 Batam futsal team. Experimental research was conducted quasi-experimentally. Anaerobic endurance was tested by RAST. Treatment was interval training program for 16 sessions. Using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired-sample t-test at a 0.05 level of significance the data were analyzed. The current study focuses on the topic of improving the anaerobic endurance through the methods of training. The results showed that participants' anaerobic endurance significantly increased after completing the interval training program. The paired-sample t-test revealed that the value of t calculated (6.332) was greater than the critical t value (2.145), with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The present study demonstrates that interval training substantially improves anaerobic endurance of futsal players. Thus, one can adopt interval training as a way to improve the anaerobic performance and, thereby, support the optimal match performance of very high-intensity activities in futsal.

Abstract

Abstract

Physical condition plays a crucial role in supporting soccer players’ performance, especially among young athletes who are still in their developmental phase. However, to date, there has been no clear data regarding the physical condition of the U-15 players at SSB Imam Bonjol in Padang. This study aims to determine the physical fitness levels of U-15 soccer players from SSB Imam Bonjol in Padang, including: endurance, speed, agility,  power, and coordination. The study employed a descriptive research design using a quantitative approach, with calculations based on percentages. The sample size for this study was 41 players. The results indicate that endurance falls into the average/adequate category, while explosive power and speed are in the good category, and agility and coordination are in the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the physical condition of U-15 soccer players at SSB Imam Bonjol in Padang is generally in the “Good” category. Therefore, it is recommended that coaches design training programs that strike a better balance between technique, tactics, and physical conditioning to achieve even better results.

Abstract

This study tried to find out how much paired short pass training and goal target short pass training can improve students' short pass skills, and also to see which method works better. The study used an experimental approach with two groups, measuring their performance before and after the treatment. The group included 33 students from SMA Negeri 1 Kecamatan Payakumbuh, and they were split into two groups, each with 16 students. The research tool was a brief test measuring passing skills given before and after the training program. The data were looked at using several statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, a Shapiro–Wilk test to check for normal distribution, a Levene's test to see if variances were similar, and two types of t-tests—paired-samples and independent-samples—to compare groups. All of this was done using the Jamovi software. The results showed that training focused on short passing goals greatly improved students' short passing skills, with the average score going up from 3.88 to 5.13 (t = -4.23, p < 0.001). When students did paired short pass training, their ability to make short passes improved a lot.The average score went up from 4.00 to 5.81, which is a big difference. This result was statistically significant, with a t-value of -6.54 and a p-value less than 0.001. The independent-samples t-test showed that there was no significant difference in how well the two training methods worked (t = -1.10, p = 0.281). Although the group that practiced paired short passes showed a greater average improvement compared to the group that focused on goal-targeted short passes, the difference wasn't big enough to be considered statistically significant. Both training methods work well at helping students improve their short passing skills, but one isn't much better than the other.
