Abstract

This study discusses social solidarity at the Agung III Female Students' Dormitory in Banjarmasin, particularly regarding the dormitory administrators' strategies in enhancing social solidarity among the residents. This study aims to describe the forms of social solidarity, the strategies of dormitory management in enhancing social solidarity, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. The research uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested through triangulation, increase of diligence, and member checking. The research results indicate that social solidarity is formed through joint activities such as worship, mutual cooperation, cooking, and eating together, which foster a sense of togetherness, care, and cooperation among residents. Dormitory administrators enhance solidarity through activity planning, task distribution, open communication, enforcement of rules, and deliberation in conflict resolution. Supporting factors include joint activities, good communication, cooperation, and a sense of togetherness, while inhibiting factors include personal busyness, low participation, individualistic attitudes, conflicts among residents, and difficulties in adapting for new residents.
