Abstract

Setting the Wellhead product level needs to be done as bbest as possible to avoid leaks when drilling for oil and natural gas which are caused by pressure differences during drilling. PT BDT as one of the companies that makes wellheads always tries to make the products they produce according to consumer desires. Even though PT BDT has tried its best, it has still received complaints from customers, because of leaks that occurred during drilling and had to incur costs for product replacement. The stages in the research process begin with conducting a field study to identify existing problems in the company and then continue with conducting a literature study to identify theories that can be used as solutions to overcome these problems. The method used to prevent weelhead leaks is the Taguchi method which consists of of three stages, namely stages: planning, implementation, and analysis. The influencing factors used are the amount of sand, the amount of paint, the thickness of the sun blasting, and the pressure of the compressor. This stage is carried out to calculate the influence of each factor used on the quality characteristics used, namely nominal is the best. Based on the results of the wellhead pressure test carried out after the experiment, the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) can be calculated. The best level results were obtained to prevent wellhead leaks by setting all levels at level 2, namely the amount of sand was 3.3 grams, the amount of paint was 4.5 liters, and the thickness of the sun was (1.5 mm). The amount of quality loss function incurred by the company due to the wellhead leak was IDR 759,900

Abstract

Waktu setup yang lama pada proses injection molding dapat menyebabkan downtime yang signifikan, mengurangi produktivitas, dan meningkatkan biaya produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi waktu setup mold pada mesin berkapasitas 450 ton di PT MWT dengan menerapkan metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED). Metode ini diterapkan dengan mengidentifikasi dan mengonversi aktivitas internal menjadi eksternal serta menyederhanakan langkah-langkah aktivitas internal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu setup berhasil dikurangi dari 196 menit menjadi 156 menit, menghasilkan pengurangan waktu sebesar 20,4%. Selain itu, biaya produksi harian berkurang sebesar Rp333.333 atau sekitar 20,4% dari total biaya sebelum perbaikan. Peningkatan efisiensi waktu memungkinkan perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksinya tanpa menambah sumber daya. Penerapan metode SMED juga berdampak positif pada kualitas produk, dengan risiko produk cacat yang lebih rendah karena proses setup yang lebih cepat dan terstandardisasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode SMED merupakan langkah efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan daya saing perusahaan di industri manufaktur.

Abstract

PT Ganding Toolsindo was faced with the problem of high automotive component die setup times. The main cause of the high setup time is the process of tightening and releasing the bolts which is done manually. The aim of this research is to design a tool for clamping dies which functions to help speed up the bolt installation process, so that the setup time for automotive component dies is reduced. The method used in this research is field observation followed by the die clamping design process. Design planning begins by drawing the object using CAD software based on the results of load calculations and determining the dimensions of the dies themselves and the press machine as well as selecting the dies material. Furthermore, proof was carried out that this die clamping design could reduce dies setup time using movement analysis with a pre-determined time study Measurement Time Method (MTM) method, where the results showed a time saving of 92.4%.

Abstract

Penerapan metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) pada mesin press SEYI SN2-300 di PT Ganding Toolsindo bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi pergantian dies dalam produksi. Tahapan program mencakup analisis proses, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, serta evaluasi penerapan SMED. Implementasi menghadapi kendala pada identifikasi aktivitas internal dan eksternal serta adaptasi teknisi terhadap metode baru. Dengan analisis dan pelatihan intensif, beberapa aktivitas internal setup berhasil diubah menjadi eksternal, sehingga waktu setup turun menjadi 29,58 menit dari sebelumnya 35,73 menit. Selain mengurangi downtime, SMED mendukung sistem operasional yang lebih terstruktur, meningkatkan standar kerja, dan kualitas produksi. Evaluasi menunjukkan efektivitas SMED dapat terus ditingkatkan dengan alat bantu tambahan. Implementasi ini tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi, tetapi juga membangun budaya kerja disiplin dan berkelanjutan yang mendukung efisiensi waktu, pengurangan biaya, dan peningkatan kualitas produksi.

Abstract

Welding of electric motorcycle rear tube frames at PT Ganding Toolsindo still uses manual clamp welding jigs, which cause problems with long part setup times and less precise weld joints. This study aims to design a more efficient welding jig, which can increase productivity and welding quality by modifying the pneumatic clamp on the welding jig used. The research methods used include literature studies, field observations, data analysis and collection, welding jig design with pneumatic clamps, manufacturing, and testing of welding jigs. Welding with manual clamp welding jigs requires a part setup time of 40 seconds. While the part setup in welding with pneumatic clamp modified welding jigs is 19 seconds. The reduction in part setup time by using pneumatic clamp modified welding jigs is 21 seconds or 52%. These results prove that the use of pneumatic clamp modified welding jigs can increase welding efficiency and produce more precise weld joints.
