Abstract

Komponen mesin pesawat yang sering mengalami kerusakan adalah turbin yang berbahan dasar nikel. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah mengganti dengan turbin yang baru dengan cara pengelasan. Masalah yang timbul dalam pengelasan ini adalah tidak adanya filler rod pasaran yang cocok untuk bahan dasar superalloy nikel sehingga perlu dilakukan rekayasa filler rod. Pengelasan dengan menggunakan rekayasa filler rod memerlukan pengujian kuat arus agar diketahui kuat arus yang tepat dalam menghasilkan panas untuk mencairkan logam dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kuat arus terhadap kekerasan material superalloy berbasis nikel yang dilakukan pengelasan TIG menggunakan rekayasa filler rod. Kuat arus pada saat pengelasan divariasi sebesar 70 A, 80 A dan 100 A sehingga didapatkan 3 spesimen uji. Masing-masing spesimen diuji kekerasan micro Vickers. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa pada daerah las mempunyai nilai kekerasan yang paling tinggi di bandingkan daerah HAZ, daerah logam induk dan daerah logam induk bagian ujung.

Abstract

The standard box car design has a large drag and wake area which results in high fuel consumption. One way to reduce drag and wake area is to modify the box car design. Modifications were made by adding an aerokit spoiler and deflector to a standard box car which is expected to reduce drag and wake areas. The next step is to design a simulation using CFD-based CAD. The analysis was carried out with three variations of speed, namely 60 km/hour, 80 km/hour and 100 km/hour. The simulation results show that the design of the box car with the modification of the addition of aerokit spoilers and deflectors can reduce the drag and wake areas.

Abstract

The problem faced by the PT Ganding Toolsindo company is that it still takes a long time to set the dies on the Seyi SN2-300 Press Machine, this is due to the long process of tightening and releasing the bolts, so it requires a proposed work aid design to shorten the process time for tightening and releasing the bolts. bolt on the die. This research aims to design work aids in the form of a hydraulic system to support die clamping in tightening the dies. The method used in this research is designing tools for the hydraulic system when setting up dies on a press machine. The results obtained by this research are in the form of a hydraulic system design that supports dies clamping during internal press machine setup where this tool can eliminate the operator's work in tightening and releasing bolts during the dies setup process on the Seyi SN2-300 Press Machine at PT Ganding Toolsindo. The design of this hydraulic system is described using CAD software which is based on calculations and dimensions of the dies used in the press machine.

Abstract

The development of production demands in the automotive industry has resulted in an increase in the need for various shapes and types of metal materials. Components used in automotive industrial production require the strength and durability of metal materials. The products produced in this sector are very diverse, including engine components, vehicle body parts and various vehicle accessories. To be able to meet customer demands for quality and efficiency, adequate production process support tools are needed, of course, such as dies. This tool is very suitable for making products from sheet metal with the same shape and in large quantities in a relatively short time. However, in making printing equipment (Dies) it does not require operation, it requires precise calculations so that accurate process results will be obtained, especially in calculations and clearance accuracy. Efforts to improve quality and efficiency in the product manufacturing process, for this reason, an analysis and improvement of the clearance of the cut results on SPC440 material with a thickness of 1 mm for the Member Floor Side Inner Lh product was carried out. The results of the improvement in the clearance of the part were able to optimize the clearance value from 0.06mm to 0.075mm

Abstract

Maintenance department often has problems with process transfer dies. One of the problems currently being faced is scrap jams that disrupt the production process. The accumulation of scrap results in damage to the product being processed. Therefore, the process must be stopped for 15 minutes to clean the scrap. This research aims to overcome the problem of stuck scrap on LHD dash panel dies by modifying the dies. Identification of causes and effects using a fishbone diagram resulted in the fact that the cause of the scrap jam was the method factor, namely the scrap sutter angle which was too sloping at 80 so that the scrap did not run smoothly and caused buildup in the process area. Dies modification is carried out by adding components to the base plate so that the scrap cutter angle increases. The modification process begins with measuring the components to be modified, followed by creating component designs using CAD software, assembly simulation, docking, machining and assembly processes. After assembly, the scrap sutter angle is measured. There is a change in the scrap sutter angle from 80to 280. The change in the scrap sutter angle makes the scrap material flow smoothly so that no scrap accumulates. From the calculation results it was found that the benefit after improvement was 31,040,000 rupiah per year.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the efficiency of tofu production at Haji Ripit tofu factory through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles. The analysis was conducted using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method to identify and overcome time waste in the production process. The results showed the main problems, namely waste waiting and waste motion. Waste waiting was identified in the process of moving the stew to the filter, while waste motion was caused by the inefficient arrangement of the filter. To overcome the waste waiting, a modification was made to the boiling furnace by adding a hole for the output of the stew. This change successfully reduced the cycle time of the pouring process from 2000 seconds to 400 seconds, with a cycle time difference of 1600 seconds. In addition, to address waste motion, a re-layout was proposed by unifying the workbenches in the molding, cutting, and packaging processes. The results of the re-layout proved the reduction of movement time from molding to cutting process from 10 seconds to none. This research makes an important contribution in the context of improving efficiency and productivity in tofu factories, and the results can serve as a reference for similar industries in improving their operational performance through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing.

Abstract

The automotive industry in Indonesia is one of the priority industrial sectors that is developing quite rapidly. The automotive component production process in industry generally includes the molding process, welding process, assembly process, and automotive component quality control process. During the welding process,the ST-03 electroda used by PT ST-03 electroda repairs were carried out using a CNC Milling machine. The electroda repair process is carried out one by one with a total time of 120 minutes or 2 hours per day. The large amount of time required for the repair process makes loading parts hampered. Therefore, a jig machining design was carried out to speed up the electroda repair process. The ST-03 jig machining material used is SS 400 iron. The product design was carried out using CAD software and then simulated using CAM. The simulation results show that the use of jig machining can reduce production time by 98%or 118 minutes. This is because in one set up you can repair 20 electrodas so that in 1 day you only need to do 3 set ups. The profit obtained from using the ST-03 jig machining electroda is 166,500,000 rupiah per year.

Abstract

This article is the result of a Community Service activity aimed at enhancing the creativity of the residents of Kalapagenep Village, Tasikmalaya, in managing coconut husk waste. The identified problem is that coconut husk waste is processed into cocopeat and cocofiber has not been widely utilized to create new products. To address this issue, we conducted training on processing coconut husk into cocopeat and coco fiber to produce high-value commodities. As a result, a motorcycle accessory product in the form of a motorcycle seat filled with coco fiber has been successfully created. It is hoped that this training will provide positive benefits to the local community and become a new source of livelihood, helping to reduce unemployment. Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas masyarakat Desa Kalapagenep Tasikmalaya dalam mengelola limbah sabut kelapa. Masalah yang diidentifikasi yakni limbah sabut kelapa yang telah diproses menjadi cocopeat dan cocofiber masih belum banyak dimanfaatkan menjadi produk baru. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, kami melakukan kegiatan pelatihan pengolahan sabut kelapa cocopeat dan cocofiber menjadi komoditas yang bernilai jual tinggi. Hasilnya sebuah produk aksesoris sepeda motor berupa jok motor dengan isian jok berupa cocofiber telah berhasil dibuat. Diharapkan dengan adanya pelatihan ini dapat memberikan manfaat yang positif untuk masyarakat sekitar dan menjadi ladang mata pencaharian baru yang mampu mengurangi pengangguran.

Abstract

Pengelasan adalah proses penting dalam pembuatan komponen logam, termasuk base frame, yang membutuhkan presisi dan efisiensi tinggi. Namun, proses pengelasan manual sering kali menghadapi masalah ketidakstabilan dan ketidakkonsistenan hasil. PkM ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan jig welding dalam proses pengelasan base frame guna meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas hasil pengelasan. Jig welding dirancang untuk menahan dan menempatkan material dengan presisi, mengurangi waktu penataan, serta meminimalkan kesalahan manusia. Melalui penggunaan jig welding, diharapkan dapat terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam efisiensi waktu dan pengurangan biaya produksi, sekaligus meningkatkan keselamatan kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi jig welding dapat meningkatkan kecepatan proses pengelasan hingga 80%, mengurangi cacat pengelasan, dan memperbaiki kualitas

Abstract

This research applies the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method and the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) approach to overcome problems in hydraulic cylinder bracket mounts in a manufacturing company. At the "Plan" stage, a defect classification analysis, matrix diagram for problem classification, analysis of existing conditions, setting quality, cost, and morale targets, as well as Why-Why and 5W+1H analysis were conducted. At the "Do" stage, the cylinder bracket mounts was redesigned using UNP 5.4 material as a solution to the existing problems. At the "Check" stage, measurements of the improvement results were made to ensure the achievement of the planned targets, including the reduction of damage frequency and repair costs. The results of overcoming the problem of broken hydraulic cylinder bracket mounts showed a decrease in complaints during the 2-month period after implementation. The application of the QCC method and PDCA approach not only effectively addressed the problem, but also increased customer confidence, company sustainability, and worker morale. The next step is “Action” stage to ensure process continuity by standardizing through the creation of operation standards for the manufacture and installation of hydraulic cylinder bracket mounts. As a result, the material change from SPHC 6.0 to UNP 5.4 successfully resolved the damage problem and eliminated complaints within two months after implementation. After implementation, the company can reduce the cost expense of repair by IDR 1,413,510. This success had a positive impact on customer confidence, cost efficiency, and worker morale.
