Abstract

Façade is the front of the building which is facing the street. It is one of the architectural elements of the city that can” speak out” the meaning of the building. In addition, façade is also a part of urban environment order which needs to be sustainable. The transformation of building function often impacts on changes in the composition of façade. Therefore, it is very interesting to be observed, especially along Pakubowono's street, which has distinctively Jengki architectural buildings. The purpose of this study is to explore the the extent of architectural transformation that occurs in Jengki style building by using descriptive methods. The result showed that Pakubowono area has undergone a change and assimilation of forms, although it is not very significant in the building typology. There are many changes that occur in materials and building elements which is an attempt to maintain its damaged parts.

Abstract

The presence of a building, whether large or small, brings impacts on the environment. Residential houses, commercial buildings, office buildings or flats have both positive and negative impacts. This research aims to determine the changing function and utilization patterns of open green spaces in the some areas around a flat into built spaces. Rumah susun Bendungan Hilir 1 is purposively selected as the study site. The research method uses a descriptive survey is to make direct field observations. Based on the results it is showed that there is a land use change, especially in some areas directly adjacent to the flats, and a deviation on Spatial Plan as well as on the open space.

Abstract

The city that grows unplanned usually arises because of the conurbations of a culture, such as Agora in Greek and Forum in Roman. The “unplanned” city grows in strategic places, such as around the harbor, business places, worship places, or other activity centers. The city growth due to cultural centers is usually characterized by the growth of services as the economic support of the city activities. The service center develops a community center in the form of public facilities, such as public spaces and public buildings. Western understanding about this kind of design is oriented to functional vision illustrated from several illustrations of history that developed in the world of architecture. Understanding of cosmology in typology and morphology that affect the built environment, especially the face of a city, can be described by reviewing some of the phenomena that have been developed in connection with cosmological concept that affects the embryo of market formation, ie public open spaces which became the center of city residents to the commercial, political, recreational activities, and others resulting from the interaction of community activities.

Abstract

In flat environments, housewives are most found staying throughout the day. They use existing open spaces in housing project to interact with other residents. To find out, discover and analyze the correlation between the pattern of open space utilization and the pattern of activity of housewives at flats, this research was conducted using descriptive analysis method bases on case studies on some flats in urban areas, namely Kebon Kacang Flat (KK), Kemayoran Flat (K), Taman Surya Flat (TS) and Pasar Jumat Flat (PJ). Subjects were housewives (residents of the flats); sampling is taken by stratified random sampling. The survey was conducted by interview to obtain data on activity patterns of the mother. Subsequently, observation was conducted to get an overview of the activity patterns of mothers and use of open space including non-physical and physical data of these open spaces. The implementation was done in three stages: preparation (literature study and data collection by remote sensing), interpretation, field test and re-interpretation (width, location, quality of open spaces and activities, professions of women at these locations), and result presentation.

Abstract

To achieve quality improvement, companies must align their production processes with customer needs, control production costs effectively, and maintain product quality. This approach enhances customer satisfaction, increases market share, and boosts profitability. PT. AAS, an automotive company specializing in injection molding and painting, relies on resin as its primary raw material to produce car parts for major clients like Hyundai, Suzuki, and Astra. To dominate the market, PT. AAS must prioritize delivering quality products on time to earn customer trust and secure continuous orders. Initially, the QC data for the injection molding area showed a high defect rate of approximately 17.5% for the Garnish Radiator Grille Upper part, from December 2022 to May 2023. Prior to implementing the Six Sigma method, PT. AAS had a DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) value of 58,177, equivalent to a 3.10 Sigma level. After applying the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process, the DPMO decreased to 17,991, resulting in a 3.60 Sigma level. This suggests that PT. AAS currently operates at a 4 Sigma level, with a strong potential to reach 5 or even 6 Sigma by addressing the root causes of rejection. The fishbone analysis highlights the need for action across all departments, including Management. Key areas to focus on include Material, ensuring the correct resin delivery to the Injection Molding station; Machine, verifying proper machine settings and utilizing the 5S methodology; Environment, optimizing room temperature and ventilation; and Man, providing training to enhance operators' knowledge and sense of responsibility.
