Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of character development and religious moderation through a coaching program for teachers and students at Dayah Darussa’adah, located in Gampong Lhok Panjoe, Darul Ihsan Subdistrict, East Aceh Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation review. The findings indicate that the program effectively instills core character values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, as well as tolerance, non-violence, and patriotism as components of religious moderation. Teachers play an active role as facilitators and agents of change, while students show a positive response by internalizing these values in their daily lives. This study highlights the significant role of dayah (Islamic boarding schools) in shaping a generation with noble character and a moderate religious perspective, which is essential in the context of national and societal harmony.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan semangat siswa dalam mata pelajaran Matematika, khususnya pada materi Bilangan bulat, melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) dan kegiatan kuis di kelas VII PKBM Cerdas Mandiri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) berdasarkan model Kemmis dan McTaggart, yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah 24 orang. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dengan membandingkan peningkatan dari pra-siklus ke tiap siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model kooperatif STAD dan kuis efektif meningkatkan semangat, aktivitas, dan hasil belajar siswa. Pembelajaran klasikal meningkat dari 40% pada pra-siklus menjadi 92% pada siklus II. Pembelajaran kooperatif STAD meningkat dari 91,66% menjadi 97,91%, sedangkan pembelajaran melalui kuis meningkat dari 59,45% menjadi 93,16%. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari 65 pada siklus I menjadi 79,61 pada siklus III, dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 100%. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif STAD dan kegiatan kuis dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran untuk mengatasi rendahnya hasil belajar dan semangat siswa, khususnya dalam pembelajaran Matematika tentang Bilangan bulat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of tutors in overcoming students’ learning difficulties in mathematics at the Package A Program of PKBM Cerdas Mandiri. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were tutors and students enrolled in the Package A Program. The findings show that learning difficulties in mathematics are mainly caused by students’ low motivation, limited conceptual understanding, and monotonous teaching methods. To address these challenges, tutors implement various efforts such as applying active and engaging learning models, using concrete learning media, encouraging students to ask questions, and providing remedial sessions for those who do not meet the minimum learning standards. The use of concrete media significantly helps students understand mathematical concepts more effectively, especially for those who are still in the concrete operational stage of thinking. However, several obstacles remain, including the limited availability of learning media, inadequate learning facilities, and low student engagement. Therefore, tutors are expected to be more creative in developing contextual learning media and collaborate with parents and institutions to create a more supportive learning environment. Overall, the success in overcoming mathematical learning difficulties depends on the collaboration between tutors, students, and the educational institution
