Abstract

General Elections (Pemilu) have become one of the essential democratic activities to achieve a more developed Indonesia. As Indonesian citizens, it is paramount to amplify efforts to advocate for their voting rights in democratic processes to use their voters. On the other hand, there are several complexities for voters in the world of democracy. Consequently, as an intermediary between institutions and the community, the Boyolali Regency General Election Commission (KPU) provides insights and information related to political education, further emphasizing activities to foster the spirit of voters during the Elections. The results of this research indicate that active voter participation is increasing with each implementation of the Legislative General Elections. This is based on the concept of "Who Says What In Which Channel To Whom With What Effect?" It has been evidenced that the Boyolali Regency General Election Commission (KPU) has successfully maintained about three times increase in voters exercising their voting rights. While boosting active voter participation, the Boyolali Regency KPU employs communication strategies through political education via socialization and Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) visits to several schools, involving students as first-time voters, community groups, community leaders, and people with disabilities. Communication through mass media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook are also conducted to encourage the audience to continue exercising their voting rights.

Abstract

The people who live in Anggrasmanis village, consist of various kinds of religions. There are Islam, Christian, and Hinduism. The tolerance between religious communities in Anggrasmanis village was maintained even though it was often tinged with tension and suspicion. This encourages religious figure to build communication. This study aims to describe how the pattern of communication inter-religious figures in Anggrasmanis village, so attitude of tolerance is born. The type of research used  is a qualitative description method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers’ finding communication patterns of religious figures in Anggrasmanis village are linear communication patterns and circular communication patterns that occur in direct conversation between religious figures and direct feedback. The role of religious figures to building tolerance at Anggrasmanis village is by participating in activities at the village such as religious holidays.

Abstract

This article explores the humanistic communication patterns employed by teachers in assisting special needs students with Quran memorization at Al-Qawiyya School, Karanganyar. Communication serves as a fundamental tool for conveying information and should ideally act as a bridge to strengthen emotional connections, facilitate learning processes, and support Quran memorization. However, in educational settings, particularly those serving special needs students, communication has not received adequate attention, even though these students face unique challenges in emotional, social, and cognitive aspects. This study aims to analyze the humanistic communication strategies applied by teachers to support Quran memorization for students with special needs. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Findings suggest that an effective communication pattern significantly influences the Quran memorization process for special needs students. The communication strategies used by teachers involve empathetic approaches, verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal communication methods, instructional communication, and tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each student. This study is intended to serve as a guide for teachers and educators in communicating effectively with special needs students.

Abstract

Media sosial telah menjadi ruang baru dalam pembentukan citra politik dan komunikasi strategis antara kandidat dan publik. Dalam konteks ilmu komunikasi politik, personal branding merupakan proses konstruksi identitas diri secara strategis yang bertujuan mempengaruhi persepsi publik, terutama melalui media digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi political branding dalam kampanye Pilkada Kota Surakarta tahun 2024 melalui media sosial Instagram. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif interpretatif dengan pendekatan analisis konten. Teori personal branding dari Mitsikopoulou (2008) digunakan untuk mengkaji penciptaan citra, keterlibatan emosional, dan penggunaan simbol-simbol visual dalam membangun komunikasi politik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang diterapkan mampu membentuk citra positif, meningkatkan partisipasi publik, serta menegaskan representasi kepemimpinan perempuan yang progresif. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa kandidat perempuan menghadapi tantangan simbolik dan dilema gender dalam membangun legitimasi politik di ruang digital. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian komunikasi politik digital serta peran media sosial dalam memperluas ruang representasi perempuan dalam kontestasi elektoral di Indonesia.
