Abstract

Abstract: Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects people worldwide. Approximately 50 million people around the world suffer from epilepsy, and it is estimated that 70% of individuals with epilepsy could live seizure-free if properly diagnosed and treated. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests consisting of 10 questions. The results showed that 72.73% of parents experienced an increase in knowledge regarding the medical aspects of caring for children with drug-resistant epilepsy. The average mean and standard deviation of parental knowledge before the educational session were 57,58 ± 18,37 points, increasing to 70,30 ± 11,85 points after the session. These findings indicate that the educational program successfully improved parental knowledge and has the potential to serve as a sustainable approach to providing holistic support for children with drug-resistant epilepsy.
