Abstract

Coronary angiography, a critical diagnostic tool for coronary artery disease, often results in post-procedural pain that affects patient recovery and satisfaction. Acupressure, a non-invasive technique rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, has shown promise in reducing pain by stimulating endorphin release and enhancing physiological responses. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure in managing pain among patients undergoing coronary angiography. Four databases (Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect) were searched for relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025, using keywords such as "acupressure," "pain," and "coronary angiography." Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines were used to assess study quality. Seven randomized controlled trials involving 774 participants were included. All studies reported significant pain reduction after acupressure interventions (p < 0.05), with durations ranging from 15 to 120 minutes at points like LI4 and PC6. Acupressure not only reduced pain but also stabilized vital signs and reduced anxiety. These findings suggest that acupressure is an effective intervention for post-coronary angiography pain, providing a strong basis for its integration into clinical practice. Further research is needed to standardize protocols and explore long-term effects.

Abstract

Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) require consistent self-management support, where parental involvement is crucial. However, the complexity of diabetes care often places a significant burden on families. Digital health interventions (DHIs) offer innovative ways to strengthen parental support but require further evaluation. This systematic review aims to examine the effectiveness of DHIs in optimizing parental support for adolescents managing T1DM. A systematic search was conducted across Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and ProQuest for studies published from 2015 to 2025. Following PRISMA guidelines, randomized controlled trials involving DHIs for parents of adolescents with T1DM were included. Quality was appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklist.Eleven studies were included, featuring DHIs such as mobile apps, web-based education, telehealth, and remote monitoring. These interventions improved parental outcomes, including increased knowledge, reduced stress, better monitoring, and greater self-efficacy. Adolescents also showed improved glycemic control, adherence, and emotional well-being.DHIs are effective in strengthening parental support and engagement in adolescent diabetes care. Integrating DHIs into family-centered nursing practice may enhance chronic illness management. Future studies should address cultural adaptations and long-term impacts.

Abstract

Thyroid cancer treatment can cause side effects that have a significant impact on the patient's quality of life and health, so effective interventions are needed to address these impacts. This study aimed to explore various interventions, their impact on the quality of life of thyroid cancer patients. This study used a scoping review approach with PRISMA-ScR for article selection. Articles were obtained from Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest databases published between 2016 and 2024 using keywords related to thyroid cancer, quality of life, intervention and therapy. Of the initial 2043 articles, 9 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The extracted data was analyzed using qualitative methods with identified were author, year of publication, research design, country, type of intervention, duration of intervention, research results, and JBI. The results of the analysis revealed three types of interventions in improving the quality of life of patients with thyroid cancer: (1) Psychological with mindfulness therapy, memory therapy, psychological nursing intervention, behavioral intervention, and technology-based therapy (mHealth); and (2) Physical with Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), and home-based physical exercise (aerobics, resistance, flexibility). These findings underscore the benefits of interventions to improve the quality of life of thyroid cancer patients which include physical, psychological, and technology-based approaches.
