Abstract

Telah banyak dikembangkan sistem pemantauan terhadap kondisi kesehatan suatu jembatan atau Bridge Structural Health Monitoring System (BSHMS) menggunakan konsep Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Salah satu komponen terpenting yang digunakan dalam BSHMS tersebut adalah node sensor nirkabel. Implementasi perangkat node sensor nirkabel pada BSHMS terdiri dari beberapa sub-sistem yang dicatu menggunakan sumber daya untuk dapat mengirimkan data secara terus-menerus.Pengiriman data secara terus-menerus oleh node sensor menyebabkan konsumsi energi yang besar pada sisi node sehingga dapat mengurangi lifetime. Sebuah studi tentang implementasi mode sleep-wake-up scheduling pada perangkat keras node sensor telah dilakukan dalam penelitian ini guna mengurangi konsumsi daya dan memperpanjang lifetime node sensor.Satu sistem jaringan sensor nirkabel terdiri dari node sensor dan node koordinator telah dirancang untuk aplikasi BSHMS dengan mengimplementasikan mode sleep/wake-up dengan interval 1 detik dan 4 detik.Implementasi mode sleep/wake-up dengan interval 4 detik menghasilkan peningkatan lifetime 1 jam lebih lama dibanding dengan saat node sensor dalam kondisi selalu aktif dengan lifetime 5,5 jam. Penggunaan interval waktu 1 detik untuk sleep/wake-up pada node sensor tidak terlalu efektif digunakan karena lifetime yang dihasilkan cenderung sama jika dibandingkan dengan saat node sensor dalam kondisi selalu aktif. Pada daya baterai 362 mW, perangkat node sensor mencapai threshold-nya sehingga tidak dapat mengirim data secara nirkabel akibat satu atau lebih sub-sistem node sensor tersebut mati.

Abstract

Absensi adalah suatu kegiatan pencatatan jumlah kehadiran pada suatu acara yang menghasilkan data kehadiran yang dapat digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan. Pada setiap kegiatan pasti dilakukan absensi kehadiran untuk mengetahui informasi peserta. Demikian juga dengan proses belajar mengajar di kampus dilakukan juga absensi. Kegunaan absensi ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah kehadiran mahasiswa/taruna untuk menentukan apakah mahasiswa/taruna tersebut bisa mengikuti ujian akhir semester dan untuk penambahan nilai. Sistem absensi yang dilakukan sampai saat ini di Program Diploma Pelayaran Universitas Hang Tuah masih menggunakan absensi manual dengan kertas yang menjadi satu dengan dokumen perkuliahan. Setiap perkuliahan akan dimulai Taruna mengambil dokumen perkuliahan di ruang Tata Usaha (TU) yang ditaruh dalam satu map. Absensi kehadiran wajib dilakukan oleh Taruna yang hadir dan tidak boleh diwakilkan. Apabila Taruna tidak bisa hadir menigkuti perkuliahan dikarenakan sakit, ijin dianggap masuk apabila disertai dengan surat dari dokter atau dari wali murid dan diketahui/diparaf oleh dosen pengampu mata kuliah pada saat perkuliiahan. Setelah selesai perkuliahan map perkuliahan dikembalikan lagi ke ruang TU. TU akan merekap semua absensi perkuliahan secara manual. Pengambilan data absensi yang dilakukan secara manual memiliki banyak kekurangan, seperti kecurangan Taruna dalam mengisi absensi, data yang tidak valid ketika data masuk salah, hilangnya atau rusaknya data yang ada, kurang efisiensi dan efektifitas pada pengolahan data. Pada penelitian ini penulis memanfaatkan teknologi sistem informasi untuk membuat absensi bagi Taruna di PDP dengan memanfaatkan salah satu fitur pada Google yaitu Google Form. Google Form atau yang disebut google formulir adalah alat yang berguna untuk membantu merencanakan acara, mengirim survei, memberikan mahasiswa atau orang lain kuis atau mengumpulkan informasi yang mudah dengan cara yang efisien. Form juga dihubungkan dengan spreadsheet, google form merupakan sebagai bagian dari Google Drive.

Abstract

Variabel dalam penelitian ini ada satu yaitu kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa aktif di Fakultas Program Diploma Pelayaran Surabaya yang berjumlah 100 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner untuk mendapatkan skor kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menjawab rumusan masalah. Melalui metode dan analisis data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik pada Fakultas Program Diploma Pelayaran Surabaya adalah mahasiswa yang berada dalam kategori tinggi adalah 20 orang dengan persentasi 20%, dan yang berada dalam kategori sedang adalah 72 orang dengan persentasi 72%, sedangkan dengan kategori rendah adalah 8 orang dengan persentase 8%. Dengan demikian tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik pada Fakultas Program Diploma Pelayaran Surabaya berada pada kategori sedang yaitu 72 mahasiswa dengan persentasi 72%.

Abstract

Proses belajar mengajar merupakan inti dari proses pendidikan secara keseluruhan dengan pengajar sebagai pemegang peranan utama. Peristiwa belajar mengajar banyak berakar pada berbagai pandangan dan konsep. Oleh karena itu perwujudan proses belajar mengajar dapat terjadi dalam berbagai model. Proses belajar mengajar merupakan proses interaksi timbal balik antara pengajar dengan peserta didik dalam situasi edukatif untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Metode pembelajaran yang  dilakukan selama ini masih banyak dilakukan dengan metode pengajaran teoritis di kelas. Program Studi Teknika memiliki Laboratorium Engine Simulator yang dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran bagi Taruna, salah satunya mata kuliah Ketel Uap. Untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman tentang mata kuliah Ketel Uap dengan metode pembelajaran teoritis di kelas dengan metode pembelajaran menggunakan Engine Simulator, maka Taruna diberikan kuesioner yang berisi tentang tingkat pemahaman dengan 2 metode tersebut. Dari hasil kuesioner tersebut diperoleh data yang selanjutnya data tersebut diolah menggunakan software statistik. Data tersebut diuji dengan menggunakan 2 metode yakni Uji Normalitas dan Uji T. Berdasarkan hasil Uji Normalitas Kolmogorov-Smirnov didapatkan nilai sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan adalah 0,053 dan 0,20 karena nilai tersebut lebih besar dari 0,05 , maka data tersebut terdistribusi normal. Sedangkan berdasarkan Uji T didapatkan nilai Sig (2-tailed) adalah sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 , maka keputusan yang dapat diambil adalah tolak H0 atau terima H1. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai sebelum diberi perlakuan menggunakan Engine Simulator dengan setelah diberi perlakuan mengunakan Engine Simulator.

Abstract

Besides Physical test normally, early detection on the condition of the body by using the image processing of iris is an alternative method to observe the health of human’s body, especially the internal organ of the body. This paper uses Dr. Bernard Jensen’s chart of iris as reference, in which part and how deep is the damage happens in the tissue of iris. Organ disorder is represented by the form of broken tissue of iris. The broken tissue usually seems to be like a hole in certain area in the iris. In this paper, the instrumentation for data mining uses video camera and the software that will be developed uses Visual Basic on image processing programming. In the image of eye, the region of interest is only on the iris, and it will be grabbed by using circle and line equations.The area of Liver organ lies on 07.15 – 07.45 in the third Quadran. After wards, this slice of image is prepared for image processing system. The method that is going to be used in this paper is grey level, enhancing and sobel operator. Then, the output of the system will be compared with physical test to measure the precision on detecting the problem on Liver organ.

Abstract

Abstract This study applied Research and Development (R&D) study which developed game application based English learning. The purpose of this study is to improve the leaner’s vocabulary and reduce their anxiety in mastering English. Vocational maritime students had problem in memorizing vocabularies and based on the result of need analysis, they need a media that can ease them in learning English. This study followed some steps in developing the game application, those were; assessing need analysis, writing performance objective, instructional strategy’s development, instructional materials’ development and selection, implementation of formative and summative evaluation. The instrument of this study were questionnaire and interview to gain students response in need analysis process and in evaluation. OCEAN can catch the learner’s attention and decrease their anxiety in learning English. Most of students agree if the game improves their motivation and they can enjoy playing the game. The development of this game as an educational game has good impact and responses even though some improvements are needed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the causes of the decline in fresh water production on the Fresh Water Generator on the MV. Lumoso Karunia II. Researchers conducted this research for 12 months and 5 days conducted on the MV. Lumoso Karunia II which is a type of Bulk Carrier ship which is a ship owned by PT Lumoso Pratama Line Company. This research method uses quantitative methods. Researchers use secondary data in the form of library books, journals and documents related to this research, while primary data in this study is in the form of direct field studies. Data collection techniques in this study are library research, direct and indirect observation and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the fresh water generator auxiliary aircraft is less than optimal so that what is produced does not match the amount of capacity due to lack of maximum maintenance. With the thickness of scale attached to the evaporator pipe of 1.85 mm, it causes blockage of the evaporator pipe. Thus, there is a decrease in intake in the evaporator. So, the decrease in intake in the evaporator resulted in a decrease in fresh water production of 16 m3 tons in the fresh water generator. As a result of the decrease in fresh water production in the fresh water generator at MV. Lumoso Karunia II is a shortage of fresh water in accommodation and disruption of the cooling process in machinery.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process is the core of the overall education process with the teacher as the main role holder. Many teaching and learning events are rooted in various views and concepts. Therefore the embodiment of the teaching and learning process can occur in various models. Teaching and learning process is a process of mutual interaction between instructors and students in educational situations to achieve certain goals. Learning methods carried out so far are still mostly done with theoretical teaching methods in class. The Ship Machinery Study Program has an Engine Simulator Laboratory that can be used as a learning medium for cadets, one of which is the Steam Boil course. To find out the level of understanding of the subject of the Steam boiler with theoretical learning methods in class with learning methods using the Engine Simulator, the Cadets were given a questionnaire containing the level of understanding with the 2 methods. From the results of the questionnaire obtained data, then the data is processed using statistical software. The data was tested using 2 methods namely the Normality Test and the T Test. Based on the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Normality Test, values obtained before and after being treated were 0.053 and 0.20 because these values were greater than 0.05, so the data were normally distributed. While based on the T Test, the Sig (2-tailed) value is 0,000 < 0.05, so the decision that can be taken is to reject H0 or accept H1. So it can be concluded that there are significant differences in value before being treated using the Engine Simulator and after being treated using the Engine Simulator.

Abstract

Attendance is an activity of recording the number of attendance at an event that produces attendance data that can be used for various purposes. In each activity attendance must be done to attend attendance information. Likewise, the teaching and learning process on campus is also carried out absenteeism. The purpose of this attendance is to find out the number of attendance of students / cadets to determine whether the student / cadets can take the final semester exams and to add grades. The attendance system that is carried out up to now in the Program Diploma Pelayaran Universitas Hang Tuah still uses manual paper attendance that is integrated with lecture documents. Every lecture will begin cadets takes lecture documents in the Administration Room which are put in one folder. Attendance must be done by cadets who are present and may not be represented. If a cadet is unable to attend following a lecture due to illness, permission is considered to be entered if accompanied by a letter from the doctor or from the student's guardian and is known / initialed by the lecturer in charge during the lecture. After finishing the lecture, the lecture map is returned to the administration room. Person of administrtion room will recapitulate all attendance lectures manually. Taking attendance data that is done manually has many shortcomings, such as cheating cadets in filling attendance, invalid data when data is entered incorrectly, loss or damage of existing data, lack of efficiency and effectiveness in data processing . In this study the authors utilize information system technology to create attendance for cadets in PDP by utilizing one of the features on Google, Google Form. Google Form or the so-called Google Form is a useful tool to help plan events, send surveys, give students or others quizzes or gather information easily in an efficient way. Forms are also linked to spreadsheets, Google forms are part of Google Drive.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Ocean application in enhancing listening skills among maritime students, a crucial competency in the maritime industry where clear and accurate communication can significantly impact safety and efficiency. The primary purpose of this research is to evaluate how the integration of auditory and visual stimuli within the Ocean application can improve students' ability to comprehend and retain maritime communication protocols. A mixed-method approach was employed in this study to provide a comprehensive analysis of the application's impact. The quantitative aspect involved pre- and post-assessment tests administered to a sample group of maritime students, measuring their listening skills before and after using the Ocean application. The qualitative aspect included interviews and surveys to gather user feedback on their experiences with the application, focusing on its usability, engagement, and perceived learning outcomes. The results of the study demonstrated a marked improvement in the listening skills of students who utilized the Ocean application. Quantitative data showed a statistically significant increase in test scores, indicating enhanced comprehension and retention of the material. Additionally, qualitative feedback from students highlighted the application's interactive features, such as synchronized audio-visual content, as particularly beneficial for maintaining engagement and reinforcing learning. Students reported that the application made complex maritime communication scenarios easier to understand and practice. These findings suggest that the Ocean application is an effective tool for enhancing listening skills in a maritime education context. The study concludes by recommending the broader adoption of such technology-driven learning tools in maritime training programs, emphasizing their potential to improve essential communication skills and overall safety in the industry.
