Abstract

Basically, education is the process of cultural inheritance from the former generation to the younger ones. One of the core values of character that must be instilled to the students is the value of honesty. Boarding school is a mean to instill honesty value for student. The purpose of this study was to find out how big the effort of MAN 3 Palembang in fostering the value of honesty for student through boarding school activities was. This research used descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted in MAN 3 Palembang. Data collection techniques used to obtain data in this study were observation, interviews, documentation. The result showed that the planting of honesty value in MAN 3 Palembang consists of several coaching activities (1) activity of faith building and piety to God Almighty, (1) enforcement of discipline. The coaching of the value honesty is implemented through several strategies and approaches as follows: (1) integration of honesty and ethics values in boarding school activities, (1) internalization of honesty values embedded by all students (3) training, (4) giving examples, (5) creating an atmosphere of character in the boarding school, and (6) the culture of honesty in the boarding school. The program implementation of the value honesty in accordance with the book order boarding. In addition, the value of honesty has appeared on the activities in the boarding school MAN 3 Palembang

Abstract

Globalization bring new challenges that must be answered by education. Need to change strategy education in preparing humans Indonesia in order to provide answers to the global challenges and opportunities globally. Method in this study using a research method descriptive qualitative. This study provides an overview of the global education through local wisdom. Study guide SMA 18 cities Palembang. Data collection techniques used in this study is observation, interviews, and documentation. Result of this research is a global education based local wisdom is required in order to improve the quality of education can compete in the middle of globalization. Global education very need to be applied to the current conditions. Global education based local wisdom is expected to create education competitive and innovative quality and reliable, which is able to compete in the middle of globalization.  Keywords- education, local wisdom, globalization

Abstract

In the era of technological developments that are increasingly developing in the 21st century, modules used in learning do not always use conventional modules such as paper-based modules. Today's teachers must be able to present subject matter in the form of modules that can be accessed online by students. The method in this study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This study provides an overview of the teacher must be able to present the module according to the students' passion in 21st century education. The research was conducted in the State MA 3 of Palembang City and Purwadadi Musi Rawas Public High School. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are that not all teachers present modules in each lesson that are in accordance with the passion of students in education in the 21st century, in general the two schools teachers state that indeed in each subject that has been taught as well as presents the module but only teachers who I want to make the modules of some other teachers still use the available textbooks, based on Teacher's competency in the Industrial Revolution Era the teacher must be able to present modules according to the students' passion in 21st century education but with rapid technological development so that teachers must learn to follow the flow of globalization so that teachers can make presentations of modules that are compatible with the Passion of students in 21st century education.
