Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis percakapan antara Rhoma Irama, Armand Maulana, dan Ariel Noah dalam kanal YouTube Bisikan Rhoma dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis Norman Fairclough. Analisis ini mencakup tiga dimensi: teks, praktik diskursif, dan praktik sosial. Pada dimensi teks, ditemukan bahwa setiap tokoh menggunakan diksi yang mencerminkan posisi dan ideologi masing-masing: Rhoma Irama bersikap demokratis, Armand Maulana menunjukkan kegelisahan, dan Ariel Noah menawarkan solusi. Dimensi praktik diskursif menunjukkan bagaimana wacana ini diproduksi di forum publik, didistribusikan melalui media digital, dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat luas, khususnya pelaku industri musik. Sementara itu, dimensi praktik sosial mengungkap ketimpangan relasi kuasa antara pencipta lagu dan penyanyi serta perlunya reformasi hukum hak cipta di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa wacana yang terbentuk tidak hanya merefleksikan konflik internal industri musik, tetapi juga menjadi instrumen untuk mendorong perubahan sosial yang lebih adil dan sistemik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan fungsi tindakan ucapan perintah yang terdapat dalam novel Calabai karya Pepi Al-Bayqunie. Tindakan bahasa perintah adalah jenis ucapan yang bertujuan untuk membuat mitra bicara melakukan suatu tindakan, seperti memerintah, memberi nasihat, meminta, melarang, dan sebagainya. Novel Calabai dipilih karena mengandung banyak dialog yang menggambarkan dinamika sosial dan budaya karakternya, terutama dalam konteks kehidupan bissu di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari ucapan karakter dalam novel yang mengandung tindakan ucapan direktif, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan teori tindakan ucapan Searle (1976) dan fungsi ilokusi menurut Leech (1993). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindakan ucapan direktif dalam novel Calabai memiliki berbagai fungsi, termasuk fungsi kompetitif (perintah, permintaan, teguran), fungsi menyenangkan (salam, hiburan), dan fungsi kooperatif (nasihat, advokasi). Fungsi-fungsi ini mencerminkan hubungan sosial, nilai-nilai budaya, dan konflik batin karakter, terutama dalam menghadapi norma-norma sosial dan agama。Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tindakan ucapan direktif dalam karya sastra tidak hanya bersifat komunikatif, tetapi juga sarat dengan makna sosial dan budaya。

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the function of assertive speech acts contained in the novel Calabai by Pepi Al-Bayqunie. Assertive speech act is a type of speech act that states something in accordance with reality, such as stating, informing, recommend, refuting, emphasizing, demanding, reporting, denying, disprove, hinting, boasting, complaining, and claiming. This study examines how the characters in the novel use assertive speech acts to express opinions, explain facts, and form social relations. The research is conducted by using pragmatic approach based on Searle's theory then the functions are mapped based on Leech's theory. The results show that the functions of assertive speech acts in this novel include cooperative functions, competitive functions, conflicting functions, and fun functions. These functions illustrate the social values and Bugis culture. Thus, the assertive speech acts in the novel Calabai not only function as a communication tool, but also as a means of conveying social criticism and strengthening identity.

Abstract

This study explores students’ perceptions of teachers’ verbal and nonverbal communication and how these communication behaviors influence classroom interaction and learning outcomes. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, observation and interview were used to gained the data. Two foreign language lecturers from Universitas Negeri Makassar were chosen as the sample of this research. The findings show that effective classroom interaction emerges from the combination of verbal and nonverbal communication rather than from a single medium of communication. Finding revealed that various forms of teacher behavior, such as explaining material with hand gestures, giving directions supported by gestures, smiling while asking questions, maintaining appropriate personal distance, and offering praise accompanied by positive facial expressions, significantly enhanced their learning experience. These combination of verbal and nonverbal communication helped students understand explanations more easily, encouraged them to speak, increased their enjoyment of the learning process, and boosting their spirit. Overall, this study demonstrates that meaningful classroom interaction is shaped by the teacher’s ability to integrate verbal explanations with effective nonverbal communication, highlighting the importance of communication awareness and training for teachers in higher education.
