Abstract

PT Berkah Utama Transsindo (Butrans) has experienced a decrease in market share, declining from 74% in 2022 to 62% in 2023, while its competitor, PT Adhitama Surya Abadi Express (ASAE), expanded its share from 26% to 38%. This study examines Butrans’s internal strengths and weaknesses as well as its external opportunities and threats by utilizing the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) matrices, alongside SWOT analysis and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) Total Attractiveness Score. The aim is to identify key areas for improvement and prioritize strategic initiatives. The results position Butrans in quadrant IV of the Internal-External (IE) Matrix, indicating a relatively strong strategic stance where internal strengths moderately outweigh external challenges. The analysis highlights major strengths such as an extensive fleet and an integrated vehicle monitoring system, while identifying key weaknesses including high operating costs and limited cargo diversification, which reduce adaptability. Opportunities driven by economic growth and infrastructure expansion are counterbalanced by threats from natural disasters and intensifying competition. To strengthen its market position, the study recommends cost reduction, diversification of services, technological enhancements for greater efficiency, stronger client engagement, and the development of contingency strategies to mitigate external risks. By implementing these recommended strategies, based on insights from the IFE and EFE analyses, Butrans is expected to recover market share and maintain its leadership in the logistics industry of East Lampung.

Abstract

Working from home can improve employee performance but also pose challenges for employees. Employees who work from home will avoid distractions at the office, have a better work-life balance and avoid office politics. But on the other hand, working from home can also increase stress in employees due to the increase in video conferences compared to face-to-face meetings felt by employees, so that high organizational commitment is needed so that employees can continue to face existing challenges and maintain their performance. This study aims to determine the effect of working from home on employee performance with organizational commitment as a moderating variable in Indonesia. The method used in this research is quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The total respondents in this study were 240 respondents from all over Indonesia. For hypothesis testing, the moderated regression test using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) by Hayes and t test were used. The results showed that working from home has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Other results show that organizational commitment does not moderate the positive effect of working from home on employee performance. Therefore, companies can create monthly evaluation activities, performance support systems and involve employees in every process of formulating company policies. Abstract

This study explores the influence of work-life balance on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesia, considering self-efficacy as a moderating variable. A total of 166 respondents aged 18–27 with a minimum of one year of work experience participated in this quantitative study. Using a causal-associative design, data were analyzed through Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with Hayes' Process Macro Model 1. The descriptive results showed moderate levels of work-life balance and turnover intention, and a high level of self-efficacy among participants. However, hypothesis testing revealed that work-life balance had no significant effect on turnover intention, and self-efficacy did not significantly moderate this relationship. These findings imply that, for Generation Z employees in Indonesia, turnover intention may be driven by factors beyond work-life balance and self-efficacy. The study underlines the complexity of turnover behavior in this demographic and encourages organizations to consider broader strategies, such as improving career development, fostering a positive organizational culture, and enhancing job satisfaction. Further investigation is needed to identify the most influential factors contributing to turnover intention, which will help organizations retain Generation Z employees more effectively.

Abstract

Flexible working hours arrangements have been implemented in Indonesia, particularly for university lecturers who are responsible for teaching, research, and community service. The Lecturer Workload System (BKD) and Semester Credit Units (SKS) serve as the basis for workload regulation, now supported by flexible work policies to enhance lecturers’ well-being. This study aims to analyze the influence of flexible working hours and compensation on employee well-being among lecturers, with work-life balance as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, with lecturers from various universities as respondents. Convergent validity was tested using loading factor and average variance extracted, while reliability was assessed through composite reliability and Cronbach’s alpha. The results show that flexible working hours significantly affect both work-life balance and lecturers’ well-being, directly and through mediation. However, compensation has no significant effect on work-life balance and does not indirectly influence well-being through the mediating variable. Nevertheless, compensation still has a direct significant effect on employee well-being. These findings highlight the importance of implementing flexible work policies and maintaining a fair compensation system to support the well-being and productivity of university lecturers.
