Abstract

This study aims to examine the perceptions of Muslim youth in Salatiga toward the storytelling style of Nadhifa Allya Tsana in her podcast “Rintik Sedu” on Spotify. The popularity of this podcast among young people serves as an important background to understand how the messages delivered influence listeners, particularly in the context of religiosity and the psychological aspects of Muslim adolescents. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), observation, and documentation. Informants were selected based on specific criteria, namely Muslim adolescents in Salatiga who actively listen to the “Rintik Sedu” podcast. The findings reveal that youth perceptions of Tsana’s storytelling style are formed through three stages of perception: sensation, attention, and interpretation. In this process, some adolescents perceive her storytelling as highly relatable, portraying the impression of a close friend, and providing motivation in navigating teenage life. However, others view her narrative style as overly melancholic, potentially influencing the listener’s mood to become more sorrowful and emotionally immersed. These findings indicate that the narrative style in audio media such as podcasts holds significant emotional power and can shape the perception and emotional state of its listeners, particularly among Muslim youth.
