Abstract

Background:- This study explore the effectiveness of a volleyball-based guidance program in reducing?aggressive behavior and increasing academic achievement in students aged 12–13 years. Objectives Examine the relationship between aggressive behavior and academic achievement. Evaluate the effectiveness of a volleyball-based guidance program in mitigating aggression. Assess the program's impact on improving students' academic performance. Methods:- The approach was a descriptive and experimental study. whereas, the sample of students was randomly pared into an?experiment and control group, with no significant differences in aggressive behavior and academic performance . In the experimental group,?participants completed a volleyball-oriented guidance program for 6 weeks, which comprised 16 sessions. Aggressive?behavior was assessed with a validated 39-item questionnaire, and academic performance was assessed through school records. Data were analyzed?statistically with t-tests for pre- and post-test differences applied. Results:- A combined effect of the intervention was significant in reducing aggressive behavior in the experimental group (self-directed, other-directed and?property-directed) compared to the control group. Moreover, participation in the guidance program was associated with statistically significant improvements in academic achievement for the experimental group, further?indicating the effectiveness of the guidance program in promoting emotional regulation, cooperation, and attention. Conclusion:- Through this study, the students who followed the volleyball-based counseling?program showed decreased level of aggressiveness and improved their academic performance significantly. Applicable Remarks:- The current study highlights the potential of incorporating team sports such as volleyball into the school curriculum as a strategy to ameliorate behavioral problems for social and academic?benefit.

Abstract

Technological advances in sports have opened up new opportunities to enhance the efficiency of learning motor skills, including gymnastics. This study found that mechanical feedback improves movement accuracy, speeds up the learning process and reduces performance variability compared to traditional methods. The study examined the impact of real-time mechanical feedback on the acquisition and retention of preferred gymnastics skills among students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Baghdad. A quasi-experimental design was used, with 40 students divided into two groups: an experimental group of 20 students who received mechanical feedback and a control group of 20 students who were trained using traditional methods. Data were collected through pre- and post-workout tests, as well as a retention test, to evaluate skill mastery, execution precision, and endurance. The results showed that mechanical feedback significantly improved movement execution and skill retention compared to the control group. In conclusion, technology-based mechanical feedback has the potential to be an effective training tool in sports, supporting improved performance through better motor control. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of mechanical feedback and the integration of artificial intelligence technology in training systems, as well as its effect on psychological and cognitive factors such as motivation, focus and athlete confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role and degree of artificial intelligence (AI) usage in enhancing the learning of volleyball among students in colleges of physical education. Specifically, it investigates students’ perceptions of AI's importance and the differences between undergraduate and postgraduate students in terms of their understanding and application of AI technologies. The descriptive method was employed, and the sample consisted of 200 undergraduate and 50 postgraduate students from various Iraqi universities. A 31-item questionnaire, divided into two axes. (1) the importance of AI in education and (2) the challenges of its implementation-was distributed during volleyball classes. The results showed that postgraduate students demonstrated a more consistent and logical understanding of AI's educational functions, particularly its flexibility, adaptability, and role in self-directed learning. In contrast, undergraduate students exhibited varied responses, indicating a lack of familiarity with some aspects of AI. Although the postgraduate group had higher mean scores, T-test results showed no statistically significant mean difference (p > 0.05) between the two groups.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of individualized digital learning on the development of volleyball serving skills and attentional focus among middle school students. Results revealed statistically significant improvements in both the volleyball serve and attention scores within the experimental group. The present study aims at exploring the effects of using Personalized Digital Learning on volleyball serving and selective attentional focus of (40) middle school students, aged (12-14), from Al-Thabrat Middle School. With a quasi-experimental design, two equivalent groups of participants was assigned to one of the two conditions: a) an experimental condition where they learned individually with digital content, or b) to control condition, in which were subject to traditional teaching methods. Measurement tools consisted of the standardized volleyball serve performance test and Borden–Anfimov attention scale. Pre-post scores were examined with paired and independent sample t-tests. The findings indicated that there were significant gains for the experimental group in volleyball serve performance (mean score was increased from 18.8 to 40.5; t = 12.45, p < 0.001) and attentional focus (score was increased from 150.7 to 139.1; t = 9.68, p < 0.001). Of the control participant, on average, serve performance was slightly higher following an intervention (18.1 to 33.4; t = 8.21, p < 0.001) and we found no moderation effect of attention (p = 0.221). These results highlight the combined advantage of individualized digital instruction for not only improving motor but also cognitive engagement and, thus, justify the incorporation of digital tools to develop skills in physical education.
